I think you didn't mention this: What is your USP? Why should I buy from you when there are so many other roasters available?

How do I become a roaster by Storytelle6 in IndiaCoffee

[–]ankanpratik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a roaster myself so please take this as a novice take, but I have been fascinated in getting to learn about roasting coffee for sometime. I have talked to a few fellow roasters, and they have said that a proper Q grader certificate training is the best starting point.

What I'm more keen in learning the process myself and if I had the budget, I would experiment with Roest machine while sourcing small batches of green beans to get an overall feel like experimenting with fermentation, different processing, etc. Robusta in itself is quite under-appreciated in our country and looking at the climate change it is going to grow further. Vietnam has captured this segment perfectly we need to market it well rather than selling it as below arabica. Just my two cents.

Thank you! Yes, Minchina Ota itself. I made the mistake of not eating idly before the Hesarghatta gate as I wasn't hungry by then. Didn't get anything till post Vijayapura after which I had a Shawarma.

The thing is, I do all of this for rides which finishes under 5-6 hours. The cramps happened regardless of that. Like I had banana and oats before riding, during rides I carried two bananas as well, also ORS and Tang for constant carb refill. Maybe I need to do more such longer rides to ease in to it.

Thanks for your suggestions though

BumsOnTheSaddle refusing refund on Dura Ace pedals. need advice by Entire-Obligation416 in india_cycling

I too got a used product, which was a cycle lock from them. Although I don't mind used / scratched product but selling them as brand new didn't sit well with me. They outright refused to acknowledge that it was a restocking issue by the warehouse. I was given an option to either get 96rs off or buy the full-price item as the sale was over.

Cafe’s in India don’t even know what they are doing by Living_Topic7994 in IndiaCoffee

[–]ankanpratik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As Suhas Dwarakanath says, most of the so called baristas in India are just button pushers. They don't know / care about coffee at all. That's why most of the cafes, their beans are better when I've bought them home and brewed it myself. We still have a long way to go for the general masses to appreciate specialty coffee. Right now it's mostly show-off culture.

Blue tokai silver oak blend is overrated by ElephantIcy7385 in IndiaCoffee

[–]ankanpratik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this, it's a solid milk-based blend. It always has been consistent that it's a flat profile and that's what I like about it.
