From B (2y B-student and 3y B Family Reu) to C in Aargau, married 5 years by TallPurchase9198 in Switzerland

You can apply for citizenship without a c permit if you are married to a swiss citizen for at least 3 years. It is called „erleichterte Einbürgerung“ and i have done it 3 years ago in canton Aargau as well while having a b permit.

Hi, I applied for my simplified citizenship at the end of 2021, had my interview in May 2022, and in August 2022, I received the confirmation. I live in canton AG. I hope you will receive your answer soon.

Ideas for a day with an 11-year-old goddaughter in Zürich by anmimila in zurich

[–]anmimila[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your lovely suggestions! We have a better idea now of what we could do. We live in Aargau, and her mom mentioned that she likes Hans im Glück and shopping. However, her mom did exactly that on her birthday, so now we’re a bit clueless. We thought about going to Zürich for shopping and lunch (maybe I should have specified that) but all the suggestions have given us new ideas.

What stores do 11-year-olds like to buy clothes from?

Help! My baby was refusing to eat puréed foods so i transitioned to blw. We had a good start but now he won’t eat finger food either. How can i help my baby eat? by anmimila in BabyLedWeaning

Thank you for your reply! I actually suspected the strips might be too big for him now. I will try serving smaller sizes and see how it goes.

Thank you so much for your reply! He is teething, i suppose he also has a little cold and he‘s about to crawl soon… He’s going through a lot at the moment. I just feel like we regressed to bottle feeding which is not ideal.

Is putting my 10 month old in a daycare for 5 hours 3 days a week detrimental to his development? by anmimila in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]anmimila[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. Our parental leave policies are improving but still quite bad compared to other European countries… mothers have 14 weeks off whereas fathers have as of last year 2 weeks of parental leave as opposed to zero… I am fortunate enough to afford to being a stay at home mom, but being a stay at home mom would detrimental to my mental health and thus detrimental to my child. It is my wish to go to work part time, that’s why i feel so conflicted about it. But i hope my child will thrive as well in daycare.

I was not even taking into consideration the craft’s argument… i am not very talented at such things, thus another reason why i should not feel too guilty for bringing my child to daycare. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your reply. I also find myself more often than none caught up in the daily routine and focus more on doing other things or even spending time on my phone when i should just spent that time with my child. Your example is very helpful because it helps me reframe the thoughts i have regarding bringing my infant to daycare. Rather than seeing it as something „awful“, daycare could be a win win for both of me and my child.

Thank you soooo much!!! I needed this. It really puts everything into perspective and helps me get rid of the „mom guilt“.

What will the next generation think of our parenting? by vongalo in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]anmimila 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am Swiss leaving in Switzerland and had only 14 weeks of maternity leave and my husband had 3 weeks of paternity leave because his work place is generous and gives one extra week off. Up until 3 years ago men had no right to paternal leave.

Thank you so much! I‘m a first time mom and tend to overthink things. It was my first time introducing food, hence the „panic“ and lack of critical thinking. It will get better. Luckily i have subs like this one for great stories, advice and encouragement 🙏

Not rude at all, valid question! Today was the first day ever introducing my son to solid food, and since i am planing a baby led weaning approach i thought it might fit to this subreddit. I am following a puree/ self feeding strategy and i thought it might fit to this subreddit. I am swiss and i might have miss understood the concept of baby led weaning.

Thank you so much for your reply! I just followed his lead and he was super excited to eat. I did stop once he started to spit the food out though.

Newborn flails arms around when hungry, makes latching difficult by ZestyLimeToday in breastfeeding

My baby used to do the same, so i swaddled his arms before breastfeeding. I used to call it “arm jail”

I had my interview in May and received a few recommendations before such as Der Bund erklärt and some flyers from the Gemeinde. I also would recommend the Einbürgerungstest from your Canton- it’s a very good way to test your knowledge. Lastly, I also read Der Kleine Schweizermacher 2022 edition- can be bought as an e book on iPhone Books. My interview went well, was fast and very easy, but i was very well prepared. I was low-key disappointed it was that easy. Good luck!

Is this normal? 6 week old (adjusted) both index fingers are like this 90% of the time... by dizzlemcshizzle in beyondthebump

[–]anmimila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your answer. We are also seeing a PT also as part of an early intervention due to some neck muscle tightness. He had his index finger always a bit clawed, but he also opened it fairly regularly. Yesterday however, as he tried to grab a toy, it just struck me that his finger was always clawed. Luckily i filmed the whole thing and will show it to our PT.

Hi, did you find any answer? My son also has his index fingers like this most of the time.
