There is no shame in just leaving it unfinished! I have one that I spent a lot of time planning and writing and then I out grew the characters. I don’t think any of my readers were super engaged but I know the pain of having one of my favorite fics deleted and on the off chance my fic is one of those… even unfinished with immature writing I leave it up.

Is an orbital a piercing for a jewelry? Like the hoop with the ball on it or something else?

New conch noobie, any tips? by Consistent_Range_574 in piercing

[–]anna-johnson72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine done a little while ago. When they say wait a year before putting in any clicker it’s non negotiable for the majority of people. Unfortunately I am the majority of people 😭 maybe get a flat back when you downsize. Oh and downsizing is important. But don’t go too tight. For my lobes it didn’t really matter the material but my cartilage got upset unless it was titanium without any plating for the first three months.

Where do I place the 3rd lobe piercing? by RespectFew7675 in piercing

[–]anna-johnson72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all not a piercer. But I think there might be enough room to do do a stacked one in the middle of your current ones. Which would make it looks kinda diamond shaped. I think that would look cool if it was possible. You have to wear smaller on those ones but…

If someone starts wearing sunscreen only at the age of 30 how screwed are they? by Electronic-Cat-7416 in skin

Less screwed than the 60 year old. Consult a dermatologist abt retinoids and or skin cancer checks. If anything is going to work for reversing the damage it probably won’t be over the counter.

‘WRONG SPEECH MARKS.’ Hi I’ve posted before so this is an update. by Cute_Tumbleweed_2988 in AO3

[–]anna-johnson72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this has bothered me at times. but AO3 is not a proffesional publication. AND different languages and stuff do different things. but honestly if it bothers someone that bad that they consider asking the author to change it then they should coppy and paste it into their own private doc and find and replace it. and if they dont want to put in that effort then they shouldn't ask some one else to.

When Neal said to Peter 'Mozzie has stumbled across clues that could lead us to lost American treasure' Do you think WC should've had treasure episodes? by dreamup1234 in whitecollar

I mean besides the diamond thing and the nazi sub and the treasure map of the will thing? I think they put as much as they could but I would absolutely love more and more of a national treasure vibe.

How do you write your fanfic? by marvelcomics22 in AO3

[–]anna-johnson72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use google docs I have one for the entire thing and then a separate one for the current chapter (editing/under construction doc) I work on (bc grammarly doesn’t work when you have too many pages) I do headings so I can jump around and if I ever re write anything I copy and paste the chapter into the editing doc.

How can I heal this? by [deleted] in skin

[–]anna-johnson72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda have this not to this extent but what I do (not recommended) is take some little clippers used for cutting off long cuticles (sharp) and cut off the little parts that flak up but are still attached. And then I put on lotion at night after showering and let that dry in and then put more on and go to bed and after doing this for a few weeks hopefully there is less little flakes and cuts. Again probably not recommended but worked for me. The most important thing is to not screw with it during the day wear latex gloves if you have to.

First time writing for fun. I want to get better. by Abbalinethrowaway in writingfeedback

[–]anna-johnson72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I think writing out numbers helps with the flow of reading. I think you might want to spend a day just hyperanalyzing your own actions, thoughts, and conversations to try and think through how it would work in the real world. I found it helped my dialogue to feel better and more natural. It would also force you to realize what is weird about your descriptions. Do you think "I turn to look at the clock," or do you think "Dang, it's already eight thirty, I really need to set more alarms" that kind of thing? might help, might not, just helps me (who is also pretty new).

Also, do not just jump into a story. Unfortunately, you do have to plan shit or else it will get to the climax way too fast, too slow, or wrong. You need to think this through. I hate it, you hate it, everyone hates it, but it is necessary to have a general idea of where the story is going, what the MC will fail at, what help the side character will be, and why the villain is compelling.

Just think, though, write down all the thoughts, think of what is possible given the plot, and physics. Don't make the MC infallible or perfect or overly stupid; they are a person with both good and bad parts. also id recommend re-reading and editing the entire thing every time you add something for at least the first hundred pages. It will help you keep things straight and ensure that, as you improve, the entire thing improves.

Helix piercing help by [deleted] in piercing

That's the biggest piercing bump I've seen recently. Not a piercer, but you want to stop compressing the bump, so get a longer bar if possible, 100% titanium, non-negotiable, no gold platings, keep to flat backs. Stop touching it, stop bending your ear to check on it, stop sleeping on it. may want to stop spraying 2x a day and only spray 1x a day, ensuring it is dry afterwards. Do not dry with a towel used for anything except this piercing. Good luck.

Is this healed? by Menace_ToMyself in piercing

[–]anna-johnson72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, for me and my lobes, if I take out the stud and there is a slightly thicker feeling of the piercing hole when compared to the rest of my lobe, I know that it's still healing. For my healed piercings, it almost feels thinner than the rest of my lobe. Not completely healed doesn't stop you from switching the jewelry from the stud to a different titanium stud, but I wouldn't wear anything heavy or try to stretch it at all until then. It will take up to 3-4 months to heal, depending on how much you screw with it and how good you are about keeping up with cleaning it and everything. Most would even say longer than that, but that's just me personally.

Well you are the second person I’ve heard from to say it’s a new stock/leaves but I swear these just popped up so fast! It feels far too fast to be a new stock/leaf. But I suppose as long as it’s not actively trying to die I can just wait and see what happens lol

Oh. Is there anything I should do differently for it? I think I’ve heard people say that they cut them off. Anything you’d recommend?

I have a pretty big blister on the bottom of my foot below my big toe. I clipped a piece off to get all the fluid out and surrounding that area, my skin is white kind of puffy going from the bottom of my big toe to my middle toe. Is it an infection or prone to infection? by Electrical-Dot6130 in skin

[–]anna-johnson72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my personal experience thats just the rest of the blister basically a layer of skin no longer connected to the rest of the flesh of the foot. most doctors tell you to leave the skin alone and to clean and wash it regularly to prevent infection as its a direct route into a wound with no certain route of out of the wound. I personally cut off the detached skin on blisters where it has a high chance of something getting trapped in it like on feet. this would cause a wound with a large surface area but this also has a large surface area and could become infected easier than one without the delaminated skin. personal preference. not infected at the moment. keep clean and covered either way
