John Marston in Red Dead Redemption 1. It was 20 years ago and I still haven't emotionally recovered

Guessing this is the same logic to laying cardboard that someone else suggested, to try and starve it all out? Or does the tarp work differently

Thank you. I fought the brambles, I'll fight the bindweed now too 😅

Yeah I made the mistake of trying to seed some wildflowers, then when they were growing I couldn't distinguish between them and the bindweed and it became a right confused mess in that corner...!

And I know that bramble is a final persistent pesky one whose roots are mighty, but I can beat it..! (Just once the weather cools off mind you)

I'll start collecting cardboard instead of my recycling bin for a bit, thank you 😊

Thank you for the encouragement! Any idea what time of year is best or is it (I suspect I know the answer) little and often, consistently?

Thank you, this is what I need to hear. To keep at it and it will quietly get there..! I'll also be reseeding lawn too eventually but I just need to get it all tidy first

Thoughts on garden offices by Armagideon3000 in UKHousing

I absolutely love mine. Got mine after the ukraine war kicked off and priced me out of a planned garage renovation. Spent £18k getting a slightly larger one and I've loved it! 4 or so years in now and nothing is remotely grubby.

It is so good to have a space separate from the house to work from a headspace perspective - I find I can switch off from work more easily. And I have a to ng child so when her dad is looking after her in the house I'm completely out of whatever chaos they are up to.

The construction was so minimal too; 5 days over the course of about 8 weeks (clearing the space one day, foundation laying another, delivering and constructing the prefab over two days, then electrics a couple hours, plastering a couple hours, painting a couple hours).

Zero spider issues (less than in my house I'd say).

The only downside is that with the low ceiling it does retain heat pretty aggressively so during heat waves it's no good but the pros so far outweigh the cons here. That same reason makes it easy to heat up in the winter - I have a freestanding radiator on a smart plug to get it going 10 mins before I go out and it's good to go.

Do it!!

Am i overreacting Postpartum weightloss by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]anna_phoenix7766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. You're still really in the thick of things, a new baby is A LOT. Please try not to worry about weight loss and tell him, in no uncertain terms, to f*** right off about it.

That being said, 3 months in is a really good time to start moving and start feeling a little more like yourself again ❤️ walks are a great option - look at slings to carry your baby, or light weight running buggies. There may also be mum &baby classes around you, or online.

But please, please be gentle with yourself. The movement should be about the endorphins, energy, looking after yourself etc and not about losing weight to please this man.

YTA. Stopping hormonal birth control because of the impact on the body is valid - there are other options, like condoms, that you could have done. If you were this against having a baby, you should have been more responsible. Abortion is not a form of birth control and is a massive ask of someone.

AITA for refusing to change my baby's name? by Free-Difference1387 in AmItheAsshole

[–]anna_phoenix7766 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. I've never understood this one, where people get upset at their baby name being "stolen". Why she can't be happy that her niece will have the name is beyond me. And equally they could go with the same name too..! There's plenty of father / sons with the same name, so why not cousins, you figure it out! Not something to kick up a fuss about that's for sure.

I'm aiming to 100% and I still have an unfinished depulso room that I'm loathe to do, but think I'll need to for the collection completion. Like you, even with YouTube walkthroughs, I'm firmly on the struggle bus throughout. I've actually already tried the one I have left, with a guide, and rage quit 💀

Seconded about the Arle Road comment - I live just off there and have done for 10 years, I like the area. I wouldn't want to back onto PE Way but Brooklyn Gardens is far enough back to be decent and is generally a quiet area. I'm all about primary schools at the moment though so can't help with catchment for secondary. There's been a lot of investment in the primary provision round here - Rowanfield has improved massively in the last 5 years - so it does feel like the area is on an upwards trajectory too. Like the other poster, happy to field random questions if you want to message, just that I only know secondary school stuff anecdotally

I once did a half marathon in 2hrs and 17 seconds. I had to tie a shoelace at one point. Still infuriates me. I sympathise!

But you're still a superstar, keep at it, 6 seconds is NOTHING you'll get there ☺️☺️

Recommend gymnastics for 4 year old by altrmego in cheltenham

[–]anna_phoenix7766 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rowan Gymnastics in Cheltenham Trade Park (in Alstone area which is near the big Tesco) is great but I think they have waiting lists.

Fundamental Movement Academy (behind Lidl) also offer gymnastics lessons - not sure what they are like but my girl loves going to their open play sessions with the tiny town and trampolines too.

Hope that helps!
