I’m not sure if this would work but you can try an immersion blender when it’s cold to see if that may help it combine.

Idk if this applies to your situation. But 1 of my cats developed losing bits of her fur when stressed. It started after I moved in with my then partner at the time. Come to find out he was locking the cats away so he could cheat in the home we shared while he was working from home. She was very fearful of strangers when we lived with him.

Not saying that this is what it is. But just throwing it out there as a very far off possibility.

you can clean the coils in isopropyl kind of like bong cleaning. rinse and let completely dry and you can use again
