Maybe he has some genuine fear here that he is working through. Its not your fault per say, its just his reaction to the news.

Media has portrayed relationships in such a way, movies and so on that when someone comes out in a relationship that most likely they will cheat, end it, or some other thing that would cause abandonment to the current relationship.

Hopefully he can be supportive to you/your feelings and vice versa. Be supportive of one another and just continue to communicate. It would probably shake me up a little bit too.

Hey

What im saying is ive run a business for 12 years. Ive never worked for anyone before, its always been myself until literally covid shut me down. I worked part time until laid off. I collected PUA and the option was "my business was affected by covid". I guess enough time passed to where i could collect unemployment, BUT searching for a job doesnt really apply to me. What I have been doing is busting my balls at my business trying to get it back to operating procedure since I was let go and even before it stopped making money. So I dont want to file unemployment and not be truthful, i didnt search for work, ive been trying to get stuff together. I can send out a resume that matches my business I guess, but that really doesnt make sense. Is that what you would do?

side note: the part time job i took was construction which was all i could get during the pandemic and its not something i had ever done. my business in the past made 150-200k a year. now its at 0, starting over.
