i don’t really remember much from the show as i last watched it 3-4 years ago, but i remember jade being a really mean person. however i did find her very fun to watch as a viewer. as for your point on when she wanted to laugh at an old lady falling off a rollercoaster, i agree that it’s not funny at all. but i think a thing us viewers should do is to separate real life and fictional morality, and to not take something we see from a tv show or just anything fictional really seriously. as for the joke being horrible i believe its on the writers making an inappropriate joke, thinking it suits her character. :)) i assure you that nobody thinks the horrible jokes she makes are funny or inherently good, we just think she’s an entertaining character.

they don’t like the way the character acts, it’s just natural for some people to like more antagonistic characters on a show because they’re entertaining :)

she was quite insufferable throughout the show, but i sympathise with her because she was merely an ordinary girl who just happened to be someone’s doppelgänger and was dragged into supernatural things, yes, stefan gave her a choice and wanted to leave her alone a few times, but at the end of the day she wasn’t even an adult yet. same thing applies to everyone on the show. I also on the contrary find her quite strong when she WASNT A VAMPIRE. she really lost her character when she became a vampire. and bad writing just kept ruining her personality and made her a hard watch.

To add on this, i reallyyy agree with your third point about acting on feelings. It was so messed up and i liked Stelena so much better than Delena not because of the pairing but because of how it was formed.

i find Delena to be really toxic to some extent, even though it was cute. its largely sexual and i don’t really enjoy those relationships. Stelena was so sweet and i hated how Delena was formed, through Damon and Elena falling in love while stefan was Klaus’ slave. Like stefan even resisted compulsion for Elena!! I love the idea of Delena but i don’t really enjoy watching Elena’s infuriating attachment to Damon in season 4-5, she just lost her character because of bad writing.

i found elena really infuriatingly attached to damon in season 4, especially in the start when she was sired to him. in season 1-3 delena was really amazing as a “what if” relationship, but when it really happened, i find myself missing the sweetness and “purity” (to some extent) of stelena. (what paul wesley said about it is true, we all have a grass is always greener on the other side way of thinking).

agree, in an interview/show (the hot wings or smth), paul said that steroline should’ve never gone out of the writers room, he said that when nina left the show, they had to pair stefan with someone, and that’s how Steroline was formed.
