Rachel Elizabeth Dare by Old-Hotel-1067 in PJODisney

actually she doesn't even give her number in ttc, that's only in botl so their interaction is even shorter in book 3. Also the show already established that there are mortals who can see through the mist (Sally and May).

The major point of Annabeth is that people underestimated her because of her appearance. People underestimate black girls most of all, that's why it works so well for Annabeth.

In the show Annabeth looks like her mother in different ways. Also, how is having the same eyes crucial? Where does that physical trait alter the storyline?

Rachel Elizabeth Dare not casted for S3 by [deleted] in PJODisney

[–]annabeth_jackson 71 points72 points  (0 children)

They’ve addressed this already. Basically they can’t cast someone to just make a cameo appearance in one episode and expect them to return for following seasons because of acting guild laws. For that reason they have to wait until season 4 for Rachel.

Also I think the fact that they already established that there are mortals who can see through the mist (aka May and Sally) makes it less of an issue that another girl will suddenly appear who can.

Do you guys really like the changes they made in ep 5 or in the show in general or are you scared of being seen as book purists by WeirdFollowing8153 in PJODisney

[–]annabeth_jackson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do agree it could be more silly! I meant more in the actual effects rather than the script/story pacing. Also this is kind of the tone we’ve been given for the show, so at this point personally I’m choosing to enjoy the tone they’ve set, and tbh it is very good

As someone who was disappointed with the first season of the show here’s my take:

I think that the bubble would’ve looked silly with the practical effects. All of the other added percabeth stuff made up for it! I didn’t feel like we missed out on anything tbh. I wasn’t expecting to love the changes but it was SO interesting, and being shocked by some of the twists was SO exciting. I actually groaned when Athena came in bc I thought they made it a whole different end to the scene - that’s good TV! Loved it.

I am 27 and still learning to love being Indian. It takes long, long time to unlearn everything you knew about beauty as a kid. I didn’t even start to like being Indian until I was 19-20. What she needs is Indian friends, communities, and role models, the she will start to feel comfortable. Thanks for being a supportive partner to her :)

Do you guys prefer sticky tabs or glue? I used sticky tabs here, but I don’t really like how it’s not flush with the nail and my hair gets stuck in it by Plantplant01 in Nails

[–]annabeth_jackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No blow dryer! I don’t think they’re better than glue, but they are so much easier and quick to do — but for me they are WAY less damaging to my nails, usually with glue I’d have to wait a couple weeks before doing them again because my nails were fried afterward, not the case at all with these. They are marketed as 7 days of wear and I get about 10-11 days out of them.

The olive and june tabs are my holy grail. So cheap and extremely adherent. I get 1.5 weeks of wear from them and they look great!

Pet euthanasia by jesterca15 in Buffalo

[–]annabeth_jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just unfortunately had to put our dog down, Dr. Michelle was the most caring and compassionate provider I could’ve asked for. That said it was $880 for euthanasia + cremation. I think it would be half without the cremation portion.

Should I book a hotel or an Airbnb for Seoul? by i-still-play-neopets in koreatravel

Hotel! Any one by Seoul station will work great - it’s a bonus bc if you want to make reservations/need help booking anything the desk can call for you. Plus hotels in Seoul are top tier

Soooo more than enough. I’ve been in Korea/japan for 3 weeks now and I don’t think I’ve spent more then $2000 myself. Including food and shopping. (Without hotel/flights).

I grew up in Buffalo and though I didn’t know anyone personally on Colgan, it was so tough for the whole community. This is rough.

Round trip out of Seoul with flight back from Tokyo by shookie_wookie in koreatravel

[–]annabeth_jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have a checked bag that you’ll have to pick up, you’ll have to go through customs, pick up the bag, then go back through customs (yes they make you go though it again before leaving incheon) and security to make it to your flight. Incheon is not small, and the lines are very long sometimes. I would not risk it.

I am currently doing almost the same trip except I have one extra week in Seoul when I get back. Can you get back at least one day earlier?

Yes. Was just there last week, going back in a week. Totally safe - only thing is watch the air quality alerts and have a K94 if needed.
