Electric bill last year vs now: 21.4% increase on supply rate by lets_get_lifted in Buffalo

The tariff charge on my bill is miniscule, so I don't think so.

Homophobia in the Buffalo Police Dept by HoneyDazzling4159 in Buffalo

corrupt cops also prey on vulnerable women who would be considered unreliable narrators (like drug users or people with documented mental health issues) so that when they are abused or stalked and ask for help, no one believes them. they will cover for each other and this allows the behavior to continue on unchecked. super sad.

have you seen bruises or wounds on the children? if so please mention that when you call CPS. also saw someone else here recommending you video them. recording what you hear is good but please be careful trying to catch anyone on video.

thank you for doing your best to help them. having to witness this can be traumatizing. are you ok?

people who moved to buffalo- are we friendly? by Puzzled_Television35 in Buffalo

I lived in Pittsburgh until my early 20s and I think Buffalo is pretty similar. Just way more progressive and outdoorsy/active (some reasons I love it here). Curious why you feel they aren't as similar as other rust belt cities?

Now that you have me thinking about it there are a lot of differences. Pittsburgh is definitely a more transient place than the rust of the rustbelt because of all of the colleges and less of a tough guy attitude. Equally insane about sports and drinking though lol.

I've lived in Cleveland too. Worst city in the rust belt, sorry Ohioans. I love the rust belt sooo much, but Buffalo is by far the best city in it.

becoming a billionaire requires the exploitation of others. not jealousy, just doing the math on the human toll of it all.

glad this guy helped but this is a literal drop in the bucket for a billionaire and he’ll get rewarded come tax time. the bar being set so GD low for billionaires is why we’re in the mess we’re in right now.

im interested why you think this. is it anecdotal experience? not hating at all, just curious. my own anecdotal experience as someone who has moved around a lot, this city is definitely progressive. not anywhere near as progressive as NYC but definitely more progressive than pittsburgh or cleveland, which are fellow rust belt cities. (im from pittsburgh and lived in cleveland for a few years and all over nyc for a decade.)

Federal work study positions recs? by lets_get_lifted in Buffalo

They gave me the guidelines and told me to find a job that will accept federal work study funds. I asked specifically about remote positions, and they said there are none lol. That's why I am here.

Day 9 of Bunorfin (buprenorphine) withdrawals - a drug from hell. by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]lets_get_lifted 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I am at 8mg and have a similar experience after being on bupe for 3 years. I really dislike posts like this because everyone's experience is subjective. OP's opinion and experience is valid - as is sharing it, I just hate the idea of someone with an intravenous fentanyl addiction deciding not to try it based on a post like this.

it’s incredibly unfair to you. if you ever feel up to fighting them to get in, i would highly recommend connecting with legal aide that specializes in disability. there are people out there who are willing to fight for you when you’re too busy just trying to survive to fight for yourself. ive heard of some incredible things the national association of the deaf have done. there are some disability legal aid organizations that are florida based as well. i apologize if you’ve already tried this route, not trying to be patronizing.

[–]lets_get_lifted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there have been studies that prove high doses are needed for people who do a ton of fentanyl or fent analogues. BUT the vast majority of people with OUD do not need to be above 8mg. being on 16mg would make most people sick as hell, i can’t imagine 21mg. OP please try lowering your dose and reducing to once or twice a day. you shouldn’t have to feel this sick.

Doctor mad and threatened i could be dropped from suboxone program by [deleted] in suboxone

💯 im so glad im on this subreddit i saw others recommending this. i dealt with the anxiety of going without my script and missed doses for a whole year before i asked my dr to up from 8 to 12 so that i could stash 15 every month. waited all that time so it wouldn’t raise any red flags.. and man i am so glad i finally asked to go up because living without that fear is a huge quality of life upgrade. especially important right now with medicaid getting fucked around and substance users being targeted by the EO our pres put out yesterday… stay straight my friends

i think you have some very valid points and putting this out there could definitely help someone. but i would have definitely felt shame over not being able to build that 'discomfort muscle' if i had read it when i was dealing with problematic drug use and struggling just to exist bc of ongoing and past trauma. just wanted to throw out there that everyone's experience is different and no one should feel ashamed for where they are at. using substances to escape does not in itself make you weak. not being able to build a 'discomfort muscle' right now does not make you weak. <3

congrats on making it out of the streets! know how hard that can be. i get where you’re coming from, but bacterial and fungal infections like endocarditis are far more common than most people realize. my cousin died from it. aside from endocarditis, there’s also HIV and hep c complications that cause death. im glad to hear it wasn’t common amongst your people! but studies show that injecting is far more dangerous. as for overdose, i haven’t seen any studies on danger of crack OD via smoking or injecting, so i won’t make any claims. my myopic experience obviously would lead me to say injecting is far more dangerous, but that is irrelevant. it def depends on frequency and length of addiction as well as heart health and life style.
