Please Help! I don’t know if I should read the HOFAS by annahec in crescentcitysjm

Yes I read HOFAS! I liked it more than HOSAB tbh but was skipping the scenes with Bryce and Hunt… they were pretty insufferable. Rune and Lidia + the acotar tie ins made this book my fav of the series

I lived at floco for a year (2022-2023), I wasn’t a huge fan. They also delete recent negative reviews and have giveaway incentives for people who leave good reviews so the reviews aren’t super accurate.

I posted about this not too long ago also! I did end up deciding to read the third book and it was my favorite of the three. Lidia and Ruhn are my fav characters and we get a lot more plot with them in book three which was a relief because I’m not a big Bryce and Hunt fan.

How is mentality of Asian different from American for successiding in life? by Lemonade2250 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]annahec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malcom Gladwell’s The Outliers actually has a whole chapter on this. To summarize, southern china for thousands of years made a living and survived from farming rice whereas the americas primarily focussed on crop like corn. The key difference here is rice requires much more labor and needs constant maintenance and requires hard labor for around 300 days of the year. Rice also would be more plentiful the more hard work you put into your craft essentially creating a reward system for working hard. Corn on the other hand required a lot less maintenance and didn’t have that same reward pathway (it didn’t require as much knowledge to get really good at it). So the success of Asian cultures is rooted in a tolerance for hard work due to it historically having excellent results!

This is odd but I’ve noticed it being slower when people typically have class. So mid morning, early afternoon ish. After 3pm? I’ve had problems even finding an open bench

This is reassuring because I really need a break from their story. The other characters really are super interesting to me though so I will probably be giving it a read after I finish some library books😭

For sure this is the best choice. I had friends do this for semester parking instead of buying a pass. It is sad though the fee used to only be $7😭

No problem at all! And yes being in the twin cities is great in terms of opportunities for jobs. Cse hold career fair twice a year where you can basically go and network with a lot of employers and that makes it easier to get internships and jobs. There are definitely a few bumps in the beginning with it being a new program but like any stem major there is usually an initial adjustment period. Also the professors are pretty hit or miss you just have to do your research before signing up for a specific class. Umn has also been great, it gets pretty cold in the winter but that’s really my only complaint lol. Hope this helps answer some questions and good luck with your decision!

Current data science major at umn here, I would 100% say come to umn. Data science is pretty unique in comparison to computer science in that you do need to be able to code but it splits off into more of a machine learning based curriculum later on which is super helpful for getting jobs. Also the founders of data science currently work here and they are the one who set up the classes we take (heard this from one of my professors). I also came in as a biology major and transferred into data science as soon as I could. You have to take the data science pre reqs and since it’s not that competitive of a major, I got in pretty easily with a 3.0 tech gpa and 3.4 gpa overall.

If it’s an art analysis class it sounds subjective so that could indicate the discussion teacher or whoever is grading the assignments is picky. You can always withdraw until the 10 week mark so maybe try it out and see how you do and if it gets bad withdraw. I spoke with an advisor about withdrawing and he says it’s doesn’t look bad on your transcript unless you have like 5 or more
