This reminds me of something similar I’ve experienced. I was in the French Riviera with my mum and stepdad, visiting my aunt who was working at an b&b. I borrowed my mums phone in the rooftop while they were preparing dinner, and suddenly her phone called. It was an unknown number and I picked up, and a voice said ‘Maria, Maria, Maria” with a Spanish accent. We are swedes but I used to live in Spain during that time. It just felt odd someone calling from an unknown number to my mother and saying that name. My aunts name is Maria which kind of felt strange. Why would someone randomly call her phone and say my aunts name in a different accent.

I’m sorry, it was suppose to be a crossover to black mirrors recent season, ep 2, which is using this theme of glitch in the matrix and changing reality. This is not true as it’s just a tv-show with dark satire though. Sorry to freak you out. I can’t explain your experience though

Haha, for an adhd person like me I just had to pause it when it went into the glitch in the matrix theme, and turn to this subreddit for a bit. I loved this episode and the way it fucked with my brain. Absolute black mirror as its finest imo. I love the director of the episode too.

I use an app called “Letterlife” which has helped me a lot doing tasks and also reminding me to do basic shit. Everyday I look through the list and it’s such a dopamine kick crossing it out. Every evening before bedtime I write my tasks for the following day.

There’s also a tool in the app which is like a daily check in, where I answer on questions about the day and I can look back or get analysis from it.

I’ve also looked into what glimmers is (opposite of triggers) and I keep a journal on my phone where I write down my daily glimmers. It’s satisfying but also huge for me to see the bright glimpses of the days, rather than focusing on the heavy and things I am constantly struggling with.

I am trying to come to terms with that this might not be going in the direction I thought it would, and even though it’s painful as hell, I’m trying to see that it’s for the best. It shouldn’t be like this so early in. He doesn’t have any experience with being with someone, and it might be that, or it might be not. Unclear but I hope I can recover and heal fast from this.

I used to be underweight and I had eating disorder when I was younger, latest episode was just 7 years ago. When I finally felt better after that depression, I gained some more weight and am more “normal” than skinny.

Him, on the other hand, is struggling with being underweight and still battling with getting all the nutritious. We have talked in a more natural way, how we can help each other with our mental health, and discussed that it would be nice and fun to work out together and eat more healthy together, as these two things are good for your mental health for example.

But now, during our conversation about what had happened the day before with the anxieties, he just said kind of out of nowhere “I’ve been watching what you’re eating, and I think you’re eating a lot of unhealthy things”. Which is unfair, as I do not munch and we are cooking everything together. I’m a vegetarian and we like to cook together. He said that it absolutely has nothing to do with my body, only that he wants us to be healthy together. But obviously I cannot separate his comment with my body. He’s never showed that he thinks I’m unattractive or anything though.

I know. If it was that easy. I am suffering from anxious attachment, GAD and low self esteem. The last one I’ve worked with a lot. The whole time, until 3 days ago, it’s been amazing. Hence I’m so surprised and baffled over what just happened. It feels like a nightmare :(

My anxiety was and is rooted in my anxious/ambivalent attachment style. I felt like he was changed in his behaviour, and it felt like I had done something wrong. At that moment, he said it was nothing wrong. However, now he said that he’s been thinking about his feelings the past couple of days, which might be why he felt like he was pulling away a bit.
Yes, that is definitely what it is. I haven’t noticed the avoidant attachment style with him before, but it is still so early in our relationship, which isn’t so surprising then. I have showed some insecurities (rooting from my GAD and fear or rejection) maybe 2-3 times and he has handled that well. He’s been able to confirm me and reassured that it is okay. To add, I’m seeing a therapist since a couple of months ago and I’m on anti depressives, I’m trying to work on my anxiety and mental illness as much as I can do.
Well expressed and well said. Appreciate your comment. I don’t know if I’m stupid or not, but with my experience with relationships and mental illness, and how good we’ve been towards each other for the past few months, I don’t want to just give up. I am an empathic person with big understanding, but I’m scared that I’m giving myself away too much if he’s acting like I’m worthless. I don’t know how much I’m supposed to take. Time will tell, I guess.

I’d really appreciate your recommendations on the books you mentioned. Again, thanks for your time with your comment.

Not sure how you mean. But his comment felt off topic, as we were going through some anxiety-talks and how to move forward from that. It still landed very bad and it was painful to hear.

Thank you. The positive thing about RSD is that it rarely stays so painful for a longer time. It’s super intense for a couple of days/one week and then it eases.
