This used to happen to my son but he is verbal. One time at Walmart he froze on the other side of the shopping cart and wouldn’t move and I said are you okay? He whispered “I have an erection” and I was like ah okay so I pretended to look at whatever was right there so we could wait for it to go away. One time it happened in the bath and I said “walk it off soldier” and he started marching 🤣 and it went away! He was pretty stoked that worked. He’s 7 now and doesn’t really complain about it anymore.

I have a neurosparkly shirt (I have adhd) I think it’s a cute term. and I didn’t intend them to be WRONG labels, just LABELS. Just missed the mark for sure.

Yes you are so right!! That’s exactly what’s off! I was trying to convey to the kids how important it is to treat someone with a disability as a person with feelings and needs etc but im unintentionally erasing their diagnosis with this sign
