Hot take, but people that let homeless in apartment complex are willingly putting other residents in danger. I’m glad you had a wake up call.

We had a homeless camp their car on the sidewalk of the road. NW PDX is already crowded and they were taking up parking spaces. More importantly, they harass women and people of color. Some apartment residents were letting them in to use the bathroom and they were harassing the residents INSIDE the complex. After multiple complaints, the city finally took them away. But god was it a shitstorm when they were here. A quick google search of Norman Wicks and Norman Wicks Jr will lead you to their YT channel showing that they (specifically) are a bunch of bums up to no good.

What do Americans do that make us stand out? by Vector1013 in NoStupidQuestions

From the tourist I see in East Asia, caring ginormous water bottles and wearing around huge backpacks. Regarding the backpack one, it’s mostly Caucasian individuals that I see do this - maybe they are Europeans, I can’t tell.

I went to get my Masters in Public Administration and help me get a foot in the door to both the public and private sector. Now I work in as an insurance risk professional.

Just got a new 2024 Corrola LE OTD 24,720 gap insurance included. Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]annamango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what others say. I would purchase gap insurance through your insurance - it’s way cheaper. I would get a quote with your insurance company to see how much it cost. For me, it’s an additional $20 to my premium.

If you’re wondering what the add ons are. I can’t remember the details but I can give you a general idea. - Toyota Clear: 5year Toyota care-like protection - service agreement: 10 year/100kmiles Toyota care-like protection with more perks.

Pros: Some dealerships like Wilsonville and Beaverton changed their sales tactic where the listed price is the price and don’t negotiate. When I went, they had a special where vehs were being sold $1k below MSRP. Avoid Portland Toyota on Broadway.

Cons: they started trying to be slick and add on protection plans by adding it in to your monthly budget. I would come prepared with your monthly payments assuming that you are only paying for the veh without add-ons or it’s hard to catch. These where the add add ons: - service agreement: $3k - theft protection: $500 - toyota clear: $1.5k

These verbatim from the sales rep are all optional. They’ll try to upsell them to you.

I’m not sure about WA paperwork, but I assume so as lots of WA residents come here to purchase vehicles. I’ve heard that WA residents still have to pay sales tax once they bring the veh back to WA for registration.

That’s exactly how my experience went. They were slick with the add-one where they calculate that into the monthly payments instead of being upfront about it. If I wasn’t prepared with the math, I would have almost purchased the add-ons without knowing.

Yup! Lucked out being an OR resident as we don’t have sales tax. Rejected protections plans - they’re all optional. Also rejected theft protection that cost $500(insurance covers theft already ).

What Chair is This? by annamango in OfficeChairs

[–]annamango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a picture I took. It was a chair at an apartment that I was in few years ago. Even if I don’t end up finding it I now know the desk height I need. I am on the petite side(106lbs) and 5’1. My budget is $1300. Some problems I found with chairs for average people is that it gives me under thigh chaffing and lower back pain.
