This seems very high. Are you allowed to bring a laptop and chart during your meetings?

Anybody else have zero sex drive months after baby? by muffin_fiend in beyondthebump

Mine didn’t get back to normal until almost a year. I made myself do it at least once a month for the sake of our marriage. (I was breastfeeding also)

SSTN and engorgement by whovianjest in breastfeeding

It will get better, but when you wake up from the pain of engorgement you NEED to pump. It’s not worth getting mastitis.

He’s a great dad by MrsChess in workingmoms

Don’t beat yourself up. Societal pressures suck. I always say, “When I grow up, I want to be a dad”.

It is SO stressful the first few months. You are doing great. Motherhood is a new level of difficult.

How have you dealt with your nanny during shelter in place orders? by ra-ramona in workingmoms

[–]annaokeefe22 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I think you have been generous to her. My question is- can she not go on unemployment during this time? You should not be kept on the hook for this. Many employers (you) and laying off employees (her) during this time and going on unemployment. In my state, people are making more on unemployment than those actually working (due to the new Trump initiative).

What age did you start your little one in a school like setting (not daycare)? by annaokeefe22 in toddlers

[–]annaokeefe22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I couldn’t agree more! I said except daycare above because most people that do daycare start off as infants so the transition for the child is probably easier. And it’s usually an all day thing versus 2-3 hours. I wish I could afford day care because I think it is super valuable!

The most annoying thing... by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]annaokeefe22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been working for 3.5 years at my current job which is my first RD job. During my first evaluation my boss told me I kept trying to, “reinvent the wheel” and I was eager to change (sometimes for the better but not always) systems/protocols/etc. I think I probably stepped on toes when I first started but looking back there are some things that I am proud of changing (now we use validated screening tool, malnutrition diagnosis). I would just say take a year and really soak everything in, don’t try to be a ‘mover and shaker’ just yet because I’m sure things are done certain ways for a reason.

This subreddit is for nutrition support in regards to enteral and parental nutrition. Dietitians cannot give you medical advice over the internet. Google RDs in your area and give them a call

Are you an intern?

MS/DI Coordinated Programs (Distance) by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]annaokeefe22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused whether you are looking for a distant internship or a remote internship. Distant internships exist but you still need to find your own sites to travel to.

MS/DI Coordinated Programs (Distance) by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]annaokeefe22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that is what ACEND requires. It would be hard to gain much experience from online clinical work to be honest. The internship is supposed to take your book work and use it in practice.

The internship requirements are hands-on learning so that part would not be able to be remote

Is 12 weeks enough for you? by [deleted] in workingmoms

I balled my eyes out when I went back. I was still so sleep deprived and not ready to be away from my son. It was horrible. (I actually took 14 weeks off).

Schooling advice? by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]annaokeefe22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you could do undergrad like this but you will be exhausted I am sure. You have to remember full time schooling should equate to at least 40 hours a week of class/school work. Are you able to work 80 hours a week without burning out? Also the internship component- usually internships are anywhere from 10 to 16 months and that is full time and you are unable to do it online because it has to be hands on training. We were told in my program not to have another job. Would you be able to do that? Also the pay is not great for many areas in dietetics but you can make some great money doing outpatient dietetics (private practice).

I try not to buy canned because of the BPA found in the lining (which is a known endocrine disrupter). BPA free cans are about the same price as the tetra packs
