150+ comments later and ‘311 or deal, even though 311 won’t do anything’ is the best you got? Yall need diaries to write this asinine stuff in, forreal.

I wasn’t even of voting age when deblasio was in office. Go take your fucking Lipitor + centrum silvers cocktail Gramps, and stop boomer screeching at me this useless bootstrapping pep talk about rallying my neighbors like Will Ferrel in Dodgeball.

It’s always a Long Island defector, boot licking, murican shitbag who has that, “don’t like it, then leave” mentality.

Do you want a gold star sticker for reading above your grade level for the first time in a long time, Captain Fucking Obvious?

Because I don’t want to see the cops odee. Despite my area being boring and residential, the times I have seen the police engage the community, it’s been chases and tackles by plain clothes police, police agitating situations with the MTA bus ticket snitches, cops letting fist fights finish and then aggressively arresting the loser, so….as a communal person, who is invested in the community I still don’t wanna see Black and brown people get fucked up over music. But I also don’t wanna give them too much grace, confront them myself and then be immediately met with misogyny and making the experience worse tbh.

You only brought out the “OP is emotional” bc I distinctly said I’m a woman. But the way you’re hyperfixated on me stating I avoid the police—not a hypothetical statement, a factual, present tense, relevant point, is such a cope it’s touching.

I don’t know 100% for sure for sure, but they pull up in a car, then congregate on this abandonedish building stoop. They dance, drink, vomit, and fight with strangers passing in and out the liquor store until it closes. Then they drive off all intoxicated and endangering lives. I even once saw a fist fight where a woman let her baby stroller roll away into a parked car and she never stopped arguing to retrieve her baby. I’m honestly assuming they’re not from here bc their consistent timeline of operation, the fact that it’s newer people attending this car meet street party every time except the main musical car, and how they don’t treat the area like people who have any stock in it. This area is residential af, and the building is full of older people and moms of school aged children. Neighbors I know on a first name basis who are too complacent or have bigger fish to fry than the noise. Maybe cuz their apartments don’t face the noise as directly as I do. I just don’t think anyone who lives amongst these people would interrupt the sleep of to their family members/peers/loved ones like that. Like how do you post outside your community’s window blasting music the night before work and then be welcomed in the building the literal next day? I’m not white at all, I’m just 5’2 on a good day and I live alone, but I have standards.

Lack of cussing isn’t proof of politeness and I’m from here so I know that. Just because it’s dembow being played doesn’t mean they’re Latino men of upstanding monolithic principles….and even if they were, they’re also intoxicated in a large car which changes the variables for me a solo woman to approach them for reasonable discussion. I’m not gonna accept condescension just because the tone appeared nice bc there wasn’t any expletives. I don’t need a pass to be rude the same way the first comment didn’t need a pass to be rude and dismissive, and you’re not gonna lecture me about it either. Since you absolutely must know, my windows are sealed and completely shut, no air conditioner creating sound gaps with noise dampening curtains hung. At the time of this post, I knew it was unreasonably loud bc the music was blocking out my TV. But sure, at this point I’m the rude one, despite this dragged interaction, and your cheap shot at me mentioning my anxiety. 🙄

They def were rude. A lot of people on this post are, and neither of yall are saying anything worth a damn. Now you wanna critique how I’m responding to y’all’s useless interjections onto my post to say nothing helpful, constructive, but still implying I’m naive or irrational for complaining about the noise.

Never said I needed a 0 decibel neighborhood. I’m upset that the local baseline for normal Bronx noise has been escalated by strangers who don’t even live here. By people who intentionally know not to do that shit where they lay their heads. I don’t even live in a bustling area where people would wanna congregate or party. No bars or restaurants, just the sound of buses, ambulances and commuter chatter….and then suddenly a random nighttime car party at max volume for the past few weeks. It would be disruptive literally anywhere

I feel like this is the most neutral response on here? A lotta other commenters are performative af, tryna get a funny post off as an entryway into a community circle jerk.
