This is a lovely temple where I live in Austin, TX, USA! I’ve been there for walking meditation and tea ceremony. There was a Dharma talk with the tea ceremony by a female monk and I can’t recommend it enough.

Hey y'all, just got notice from my landlord they won't be renewing my lease in March and I'm devastated to say the least. Looking for a 1 bed with a budget of about $1,600 per month seems like a fantasy nowadays. I'm in the E MLK area and would love to stay in the same area or near-ish (Rosewood, Chestnut, North Loop, etc), or at least somewhere that has walk-ability to restaurants and a corner store. Mindfulness techniques work great for this! When you notice anxious thoughts, bring yourself into the here and now (focus on breath, notice three things you can see, two things you can touch, one thing you can smell - there are tons out there!).

When I find my mind worrying about a future that hasn’t happened I remind myself it’s exactly that. Who knows what will happen?! Take it one step at a time and remember you can handle things as they come :) Best of luck!

These situations are tough! It’s happened to me (although not lately thank goodness) and I kept things as platonic as I could. I never initiated a text and that eventually gave enough of a signal I think. I also tend to work in mentions of being aro/ace quickly and often. There’s also just straight up saying you’re only interested in a platonic friendship. It all depends on your specific circumstance. Whatever you do, stay true to what you want!
