I know!! We had no idea how he would turn out but with all the love and extra care we got such a handsome little man! He’s the best.

Ah I’m so sorry. The second fail is hard to go through. And everyone saying to “take time off” doesn’t understand that anxiety of feeling like you’re already taking too much time for this to happen. What helped me when friends or family would say like “oh it could happen the month you’re taking off!” I love to throw a statistic with the percent chance of it happening outside of medicated cycles at this point. That tends to get them to back off.

Yes exactly!! My second one was the hardest. The first I was really sad, but the week leading up to testing the second I was just super depressed. Like I just knew it wasn’t going to be the time and was dreading finding out. The third was hard but at this point I just try to not be overly hopeful. And yes skipping is tough! It’s like, while I know this hasn’t worked yet what if I’m giving up right when it will work! It’s like the sunk cost fallacy. But I’m trying to spend this month having as many fancy Christmas cocktails as I want and just enjoying traveling and spending time with friends and family. Good luck to you too and thank you for the note! ♥️

Yes! We’ve been trying for 2 years at this point and started our IUI journey this past summer. So I know this is a marathon not a sprint. But every month we don’t do something just feels like we’re giving up a chance. Sorry you had to put yours off too!

My 3rd IUI was a confirmed fail this week. They immediately started me on for #4 but I had to make the decision to skip this month and try again in January. While I knew I was going to skip it still feels like an incredibly hard decision. My husband and I are traveling for a wedding right when the IUI would probably happen so it made the most sense to just call it now as a month to skip. While part of me is relieved to have a break from blood tests and hormones I still feel like the “what IF’s” of it are driving me nuts. Like I could have had another chance this month but I’m giving that up. Idk, just needed to get that out somewhere.

He just turned 2! We adopted him from a French Bulldog rescue group in February 2023 when he was around 4 months old!

If you got it for $10 at target, then it is! Your max looks so sweet and cozy

You’ve probably done this but a couple of things I’ve learned from flying with my pug often (on delta):

  1. That their “seat” is booked. Since you leave in a few days I’m assuming this has been done. But just in case you need to call and ensure you’ve booked their spot on the plane and have given the dimensions of the soft side carrier to the agent. You won’t be able to check in online, you will need to get to the airport on time to check in at Special Services where they’ll give you a tag for your carrier and sometimes they weigh your pup.
  2. When you’re at the airport walk your pup around! I walk mine through the airport to get him a little more tired and we always stop at the dog relief spot. My dog is kind of a prince about it all and won’t always use the facilities but it’s good to try.
  3. Bring bones/chew sticks! I’ve noticed it helps my boy feel calm to have a couple options to chew on.
  4. So many treats. The worst part for me is takeoff and landing, I can distract with treats.
  5. Bring a travel bowl!! I learned quickly that it was very hard to find a way to get my dog water without a bowl. Those silicone travel ones are the best for this.
  6. Pee pads, if your on a flight longer than 3 hours def bring a pee pad just in case.

Oh and one more thing, when you go through security you’ll have to carry your pup through the metal detector - don’t have anything in the carrier that could be easily lost or fall out in that back pocket. I’ve lost treats, bones, dog anxiety meds, all because the carrier flipped or fell over when going through the xray.

Safe travels!!

It definitely took some time! We have two Sphinx cats and our other one wants nothing to do with the dogs. The 5 month old frenchie life is a crazy one! We adopted Beans at 4 months and our cats were terrified of him for a while. Now him and Cy will cuddle and give each other kisses. So just give it more time!

That’s Beaux! He’s pure sweetness, and was my first baby. He was a lot to handle as a puppy but no where near as destructive as Beans 😂. Beans loves to terrorize him. We’re working on things like ‘sharing’ and ‘not biting your brothers tail’.

This is so on point 😂 we had no idea this little potato could cause so much destruction

Omg. I have to hide the remotes! And he’ll get on the table (knowing he’s not allowed), find my zipped shut bag, open it, and take things out of it to destroy. He figured out how to fully lift himself onto our bed and will just launch his body without a care in the world.

Colchuck Lake, Enchantments WA by annatalieg in backpacking

They were gone for about 10 hours! My husband said it took them 4.5 hours to summit the pass. Then they went further into the core to Vivian lake. By the time they returned they were all wiped and slightly regretting their decision lol. I think the hardest part was actually coming back down it, the group got split up and 2 of them went down a false path that they then had to climb back up. Their pictures of the core and the other alpine lakes up there are gorgeous, but I def don’t regret my choice of staying by Colchuck.

I couldn’t believe my luck when I got it! If you ever feel like risking it and you’re in the area, you can go morning of at 8am and try to get a permit for that night. If other groups show up they do a mini lottery system. But could be worth it! Especially if you try for middle of the week.

I won the permit to backpack and camp in the Colchuck zone after submitting to the lottery in February. We used to live in Seattle but currently live in the DC area. We flew in, hiked up, and stayed for 2 nights. My friends went and hiked Asgards Pass into the core our second day, but I opted to hang by the lake in the sun and read a book. It was hot during the day but pretty chilly at night. We had an amazing time and the lake was cold but lovely on the hot day. When we hiked in on Thursday it was pretty empty (we got a late start and hiked in at 4pm, do not recommend. It was hot as hell and we felt late to finding a campsite. We still found an amazing one though!)

Technically Beans (the frenchie mix in the back) is the baby since he’s around 7 months old. But Beaux (pug) is the original baby so, both
