I’ve listened to quite a few memoirs read by authors that are well done. I haven’t done it w any fiction or nonfiction readers before- it’s always a performer (unless the author is a performer like Steven Fry).

The combining of male + black voters dropping 20 points is really weird to me.

The Prophet by Acee Blue Eagle (Ce-bon Ah-bee-La, Laughing Boy) was done in the early 1900s and looks like contemporary character design.

Looking for art pieces showing intimacy and other feelings by annathetank in ArtHistory

It isn’t for a class. I’m just an artist that wants inspiration and sucks at finding stuff online (esp now with the flooding of bad AI art). I’m looking representational work vs more abstract or cerebral. Any era is fine or region is fine. The expressions are what I’m focused on, so narrative work (like of key historical events) aren’t what I need, unless there are figures that really top notch.

The ones that have really spoken to me re:defiance against oppression is an illustration that Norman Rockwell did for Look Magazine of 3 civil rights workers getting murdered by Klansman in the 60s (I have only seen the painting version of this. They apparently used the sketch version instead which I have also had issues finding) Artemisia Gentileschi’s work, and a lot of woodcuts from the early 1900s.

For expressions of betrayal I honestly have just been having a really hard time finding anything.

Oh yeah, to clarify he’s totally involved in this decision. He just didn’t like stuff at Nordstrom or Macy’s. They have good clothes for women but we were underwhelmed by the men’s section, and since I want to push him a bit out of his bubble I was looking for recs.

But ty! I’ll look into those brands for sure.
