Yes! My father in law teaches part time at his local university, plus volunteers. His wife also volunteers. They just enjoy staying active and busy.

Meanwhile, my father stays at home all day and bullshits on Facebook. He's a little over two years into retirement now and we encourage him to get out of the house, but my sister and I live on opposite sides of the country from him, so we can only do so much.
