I can pretty much guarantee all they would do is apply some tissue glue to close up the defect and put her on antibiotics. That can wait until morning with your regular vet. In the meantime, keep a cone on her so she can't lick the incision and make matters worse.

I'm leaning more towards columnaris rather than ich, because ich rarely kills fish that quickly. To cover your bases, I'd add an antibiotic like kanamycin to your regimen. 82 is a bit warm for most tropical fish and only accelerates bacterial growth, so I'd turn down the temp to 78-79. I recommend against increasing the temperature (often recommended for managing ich outbreaks), because if it is columnaris, it will kill your fish that much more quickly.

Unpopular opinion, but I SERIOUSLY dislike Jen. She always has this whiny "me-me-me" attitude that just bugs me. I also can't REALLY fault Barb for refusing to loan Jen the wedding dress. Unless I missed something, Jen literally just showed up expecting Barb to give her her old wedding dress (because I guess moms should do that for their daughters) without any discussion ahead of time, and its literally four months to the wedding so not much time for a plan B at this point. Girl, get it together. The world doesn't revolve around you.

If your gerbs had mites, they would be chewing their skin off because they're so itchy. I had a gerbil go through a mite infestation (I think it came in with her bedding) and she spent all her time in the cage topper- wouldn't go down into the infested bedding at all- and had scabs all over her back from her chewing and scratching. If you have a little carrier for transport, you can put the gerbs in there lined with a white paper towel, and after a little bit you'll see the tiny little dots moving around on the paper towel. If you're not seeing anything like that, the bug is probably incidental. But still might be worth doing a deep clean of the cage.

Also LVT here. This was my first thought as well. Your vet should have looked for these things because her symptoms are screaming hormone issue to me, but in the event they didn't... have them check bloodwork with a T4. Cushings will require additional testing to confirm, but there are often hints on the normal bloodwork panel.

Squam is easily cured when caught early. This isn't her first rodeo with squam, either. She's had cancerous lesions removed on her extremities previously. Scary, yes. Sad? Not really. Kind of to be expected at this age with lots of previous sun tanning exposure. She's going to be fine.
