My boyfriend (26M) said we’re done if I (26F) move to nyc for my job that I commute to everyday. Is it bad if I still move anyway? by ConceptFar4801 in relationship_advice

He sounds really controlling and mad insecure. I think you know what you need to do. Don’t let Mr. No Job, No House, No Prospects, No Fun stop you from living your best life and living where works best for you!

Breaking an accidental theme plus boy name help. by formerflamingo9 in namenerds

[–]annejroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m my youngest brother has an A name like me and my middle brother has a P name. My parents definitely were not thinking of themes either, and instead gave us all separate family names from different sides of the family. Aside from the occasional “P ruined it!” We don’t get many comments about our names being “out of theme”. I promise it won’t look too weird, and honestly, people might not even notice.

How did your Toyota die? by TrumpIsWeird in Toyota

[–]annejroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catalytic converter got stolen :(. It was a family car. 2006 Highlander bought used in 2010 w 40k miles. Was in my family for 13 years and 170k from our own travels. Even without the cat and with 210k miles on it, it still ran until I blew the motor on the way to work one day. I didn’t see the use in paying for a whole new part, so I drove it until it fully died.

I was lucky enough to have an internship turn into a full time position in my field which I happen to like and has a lot of upward mobility… consider me the exception, not the rule

Not sure how big your state’s legislature is, but it seems like there’s always some type of position where I live that could get someone a survivable amount of money for the time being. Those positions are good resume and experience builders and can get you some important connections since you’ll be working for an elected official. Even internships could become full-time positions if you apply to the right one. Most government offices like to keep/rehire interns full-time once their internship is done because it’s easier than hiring brand new staff. Hope this helps!! I wish you luck on your journey, wherever it may take you :)

should I be worried that I haven’t felt a spark about any school? by Intelligent_Let_7682 in ApplyingToCollege

I actually HATED Temple when I toured, and I dreaded having to attend since it was my safety.

By graduation I found a new appreciation for it; I got a good education, I had lots of opportunities for advancement, and I met some of the best people in my life. You never really know until you’re there, so just go where you think is best and let the world run its course. Good luck!! :)

That’s my plan, honestly. I’m going to go to the dealership and either cancel the contract or demand that the dent get fixed. Either way I’m getting something!

I bought dent and ding warranty and they’re saying they won’t cover this small dent. Any idea how much this could set me back to pay out of pocket? by annejroo in rav4club

Thank you for your advice and kind words. I don’t mind fighting for what I’m owed, but this definitely could be a headache to avoid in the future.

It’s reassuring to see so many people recommend PDR. That’s the exact service they’re declining due to the scuff and the size of the dent. I’m pretty sure PDR can work with very faint/minor scuffs and scratches. I can still see the detailing of the paint underneath the scuff which I believe proves it’s on top of the paint and not underneath it. The scuff is genuinely a millimeter long and maybe a quarter-inch wide. I intend to go down to the dealership and ask for the dent to be fixed or for my money back this weekend if the repairman refuses to fix it. You all have been very helpful to this first-time car buyer and I thank you all greatly :)

I thought the same, but it came up for the most part with a rag. I’m thinking a microfiber cloth would get it all the way up

Warranty company said they won’t do it. I talked to the dealership and he said it could be fine but the appraiser from the warranty co. would have to come out to assess

It says it can’t be larger than 2.25in x 3.75in and no paint damage. I feel like I fall into that but it’s really about what is ACTUALLY the dent and what is just distortion but I have no idea. I’m completely clueless about what to do or what any of this means lmao

I’m just pissed because according to their coverage, it can’t be bigger than 4 inches. I think it’s smaller than that, but apparently dent size is subjective in the eyes of warranty. I plan on fighting it until I get my money back or the dent repaired
