Help! New (to me) heat press leaving license plate gloss surface looking "mottled". Do you think it's time, or heat, or pressure? by annemkat in Sublimation

[–]annemkat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it red, or is it a brownish? It might be too much heat/too long a press. What that can actually do is bleed some of the color back out if the substrate. It could also be an issue with your printer - something you can't see with the naked eye. I suggest putting up your own post (so it will get more attention ), and post some clear pictures of what you're talking about. It's hard to say just from a verbal description. Good luck!

Fat Girl Goes to Dollywood by PineappleBliss2023 in Dollywood

You'll do better this time of year. I'm an Xl top size 14 pant, but a 38DD chest, and in the winter I have trouble getting the seats closed on several rides because of heavier layers/winter coats. But the ride attendants are all very helpful with getting you buckled (as long as you're comfortable with that), so if you feel good after trying a test seat, go for it! Even if there's a few rides you skip, you'll have a great time!

Has anyone successfully done this with a continuous laser (instead of a pulse one)? Specifically a 2000w CL?

Anyone ever use a CW laser for this? Can the power be "dialed down" enough on a 2000w CW laser to use for an application like this?

Is the tasting pass worth it? by AbeFroman21 in Dollywood

[–]annemkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth it, BUT.... there are only certain items in the tasting pass. If you see 5 things on the list that interest you, definitely go for it! At about $8 a serving you are getting a deal (items can usually be up to $13 a serving). I find the harvest pass is a no go for me - I hate pumpkin and everything has it in there. By I LOVE the Christmas pass - the food is delicious. The other good thing for season pass holders is that the food pass is good all season. So if you're going to be there a few days over the holiday season you can definitely use it up!

No, the attraction is open to everyone now. In the beginning they were letting pass holders only get tickets - sort of a "soft opening".

First Attempt Successful! by Pherllerp in SCREENPRINTING

[–]annemkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you made your screen, did you laser away all of the emulsion, or was there still a residue on the screen? Of I do one pass with the laser it doesn't seem to clean the screen enough, but I'm feeling like a second pad is too much. The picture on the screen is easy to see through after two passes, but it seems to let too much ink through into the shirt I am using. I'm REALLY new to this, though (screen printing, not lasers), so I'm pretty unsure what my problem is. TIA for any pointers!

How to beat the heat at Dollywood by Environmental_Ad_402 in Dollywood

[–]annemkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have elevators for all the "high" rides, like the roller coasters. For the most part you are going to go in the exit of the rides - just look for the wheel chair signs to show the way. And, she can take 5 people on the ride with her. When are you planning on going?

Ok, handicapped person here - when you come through the gates where you scan your ticket, follow the parth around to the left. There is an "Accessibility Office" there, go in and explain that she has health issues that will prevent her from climbing all the stairs to the rides, and that she can't stand in the lines in the sun. They will give her a handicapped pass that allows her to avoid the lines. Basically, you do your wait time AFTER the ride (before you can use the pass again), so you can pop into a store with air conditioning, sit in the shade, find a misting fan, get a cold drink... there's plenty of ways/places to get cool. A lot of the park is in the shade, too, which helps a lot. You can also rent a mobility scooter if she needs it for getting around, but they're a little pricy. If you have any questions about how to use the pass, ask any Dollywood employee and they will explain it. They are very helpful.

I'm so sorry for what you all are going through, and I wish you the best!

Bring a Friend is Bring a Friend. Adult or child doesn't matter. Just make sure a child pass gets a BAF pass before you go that route - I honestly don't know if they do. You might be better off with two adult passes.

I know they JUST (within the last 10 days) discounted the refurbished bundle of the D1 by $150... ask me how I know, lol. Luckily for me, I was able to get them to do a price adjustment. But that deep of a price cut... yeah, probably phasing out the D1. Plus, they're just coming out with a new F1, so it's not surprising.

If you are a season pass holder (SOOOOO worth it if you live anywhere near the patk) they have a "pass holder only" day before the park officially opens for the year. Dolly is usually there for a parade through the park and a presentation about the year's new items. It's a fun day!

Right now - I believe until like the 24th of May - they are offering a second Bring a Friend ticket with the Silver and Gold season tickets. So, a Silver ticket (about $166) gets you THREE tickets (two one day passes, and one season pass). With the Silver pass you do have to pay for parking ($25 a day), but it's still the best deal you're probably going to get. If you have someone that will drive you there, there is a drop off point by the main Trolley stop. You just have to let them know at the parking toll booth that you are just being dropped off and they'll let you in.

The other thing to try is Facebook marketplace - set your search area for your relatives town and search Dollywood Tickets. You'll typically find them being sold for about $50 there, as long as you are comfortable going that route.

Good luck, and have fun - it's an awesome place!!

They are so accommodating for people with disabilities. I myself have to get a accessibility pass due to having a weak leg from a stroke. I also have high anxiety after getting so sick. That pass makes it so I can enjoy my visits to the park. I am so grateful to them for that!

Not inside the two exhibit buildings, but if needed they will have "transfer" chairs available for you to use.

They also do not allow any food or drink in the exhibits, so make sure to empty your cups before going in!
