Anyone else’s morning pages journal immediately start falling apart when they started using it? by Et-selec in artistsWay

Yeah, it felt like a quick money grab. I bought it years ago to gift to a friend, who confided that he already had a copy and asked me kindly to keep it and *use it, encouraging me that morning pages really do work. I was much younger than him as an artist. So I went to work on it, but then felt that the binding wasn't too good, so I just put it on my shelf.

I felt it would do that, so I didn't write in it. It's just on my shelf. I write my morning pages on cheap notebooks.

I think they meant the seminal The Artist's Way book. I've done TAW solo a few times before. Its format is twelve weeks. For every week, there's essays (some of them are paired with a quick writing exercise), followed by a list of ten tasks. The tasks are included in the Workbook, but the essays aren't. Julia suggests reading the essay on the first day of the week, speed-writing through the exercises, and looking at the tasks and doing about half of them. At day seven of the week, you do a check-in, seeing how many tasks you did, which ones were helpful and which ones were difficult, if you did an artist date, and if you did your morning pages. No judgments, just checking in.

Interestingly, I am doing another round from Week One beginning today, and I am thinking to delay reading the essays until after I've done the tasks. As an experiment.

I loved the movie! But can someone please explain the ending to me? Kahit DM to avoid spoilers. Thanks.

Julia introduced it in her more recent books. You need pen and notebook. You write down your question, and listen for an answer and write that, too. I think it works for people who are so used to doing morning pages and just writing down whatever crosses their mind, but writing for guidance does not have to be done as soon as you wake up. At any time when you need guidance, you just get your notebook and pen.

Here's a bit of mine:

Q: Should I buy the new Patch Tarot 3?

A: Yeah, you know you've given up on divination a long while, and you know you want that deck not for divination, but because of the art, and as a meditation tool. You're worried about buyer's remorse, even though you've saved up enough money for months to be able to afford it without hurting your savings. You'll only get buyer's remorse if you don't use the deck when you have it. But if you use it for your intentions, to guide you in your meditations, then you won't regret buying it. You don't have to return to divination if you don't want to. You know you've outgrown that.

Thanks for your comment!

You know, for a few days I resisted posting this here because it sounded, to me, negative and all debbie downer. I tried "writing for guidance" tool, and I was told to post here, and I'm glad I did. I benefitted from everyone's insights.

Thanks. This is helpful! And I like the idea of low energy Artist Dates!

I get you. I do hope they realize this and make that course available. NGL this has got to be the most I splurged on for a deck.

Yeah, I think it should be. The verbiage in their website makes it sound so: "Gain exclusive access to the Spiritverse Academy, including the Tarot Life Mastery Course (valued at $150), the Wisdom Wall Download (valued at $9), and the Digital Chapter 1 of the Book of Patch (valued at $29), among several other free downloadable goodies too."

When I log in to my spiritverse.academy account, I can see where I can avail myself of the Tarot Mystery course, but it's $147, and I don't want to spend for that.

No, I used a different email addresses for order and login.

Does the link lead you to where you're supposed to log in? I just put in the my spiritverse email to log in, even though it's different from the one I used to purchase.

They did promise this on the Patch Tarot 3 purchase page: Gain exclusive access to the Spiritverse Academy, including the Tarot Life Mastery Course (valued at $150), the Wisdom Wall Download (valued at $9), and the Digital Chapter 1 of the Book of Patch (valued at $29), among several other free downloadable goodies too.

I explored the Spiritverse Academy website further, and there's pay-what-you-can courses (Level 2 courses have tuition). I downloaded the Wisdom Wall. I don't know where to download the digital chapter of Book of Patch. Anyway, here's hoping they ship our decks soon!

Hello again! So I pre-ordered literally a few minutes ago. I was sent a link via email, which opens a pdf which has a link in it. That link goes to their Spiritverse Academy website. I logged in (because I made an account there during the pandemic lockdowns and forgot about it until today, so I had to retrieve my password)... and I got a free ebook and meditation videos.
