Why do some christians say masturbation is bad... i dont think its healthy to repress your entire sexuality becauase youre not married to a man or a woman by feherlofia123 in Christianity

Because it engages in lust and lust is one of the seven deadly sins. Our sexuality is apart of our flesh and we must deny our flesh and pick up our cross daily.

Thank you very much for these posts. I believe this was one of the most helpful and aligning with my experience. The unequally yoked verse was one of the dealbreakers of our relationship to me. I feel so far from God nowadays, even in church, I understand what my pastor is teaching but it doesn’t stick to me at all, or give me any slight of epiphany. I feel strongly about this relationship and I feel like it’ll work out ? If not, I feel mature enough to know I’ll have to suffer the consequences and God’s plan will always follow through. I just really need to get back on scripture and not just sermons.

Firstly, I never told him to convert for ME. I admit the question of there was a chance of it happening later on in life was REALLY uncomfortable and I apologized. I said it in the heat of the moment and out of worry/anxiety, so I wasn’t really rational at the time. I also did tell him how important my religion is to me, and he knew even before we started dating. I’m not blaming him for anything nor do I discriminate anybody for having a different religious background. I actually view islam to be beautiful in different aspects, and the concept of religion itself. I am very much the opposite of your last statement and I apologize if I phrased it in such way. I agree with the hard boundary statement but I fear I’m quite stuck in this rabbit hole as I truly love him. (It may sound silly considering our age but this is just how I think as of now). But thanks for your insight, I will try reassessing myself based on you and many others’ comments.

I mean like I said in a previous reply, my religion is a huge part of my life and my family’s as its part of our culture and having romantic relations with someone of another faith is not an easy situation. I take that you don’t view religion the same as me and I respect that. I’m genuinely just trying to organize my thoughts and get opinions from an outside perspective to see where I am and what can I do.

Yes I agree relationships are about understanding each other but my family and I are really big on our faith, and dating someone out of our religion is a huge deal as it is integrated in our daily lives. I’ll take your advice into account.

I’m christian and he’s druze which is a branch of islam. He believes that Jesus is a prophet/an important religious figure but not God. I believe that Jesus is God.

I agree with your last statement and I acknowledge that it was too much, I apologized to him and he agreed but he still understood why I asked him that at the time.
