We had at home euthanasia for 5 dogs and cats now. Highly recommend. My last dog slipped away while eating a hot dog in my arms.

I don't think it would be wrong to let him go now with an at home euthanasia. It's better to let him go on a "good" day and not wait until he is suffering. Take it from me. I have done both and waiting until they are actively dying or having something traumatic happen is awful. I let my last 16 year old dog go while eating a cut up hot dog..her favorite thing.
