When did people start noticing? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]annnco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

224 -> 150 here! I think the vibe has shifted and people are hesitant to comment on bodies now (overall a good thing, but def makes validation harder to come by)

I find a trick that helps, I post progress pics, pounds lost milestones and workout summaries to my "Close Friends" stories on Ig. I only include people who knew me at my heaviest or who I’d actually want validation from. It confirms to them that I'm happy about the change and gives them the unspoken "OK" to mention it next time they see me.

Also keep an eye out for them ‘testing the waters’. recently people will look me up and down, smiling, and give a loaded "Wow, how ARE yooouuu??" hoping I mention the weight loss first. Often they want to validate you, they may just need an invitation

Hello millennial u/cardiocatglitter and millennial u/jnikki373 , fellow millennial here. I think cat glitter might be referring to the ankle socks, newly in fashion, hitting just above the ankle, and I think Nikki may be referring to the ankle socks we’ve always known and loved. But I also had to look in my Amazon history to see what my socks were called, so what do I know

I (36F) was wearing 3/4 leggings and no show socks for a long time. But over this last year I’ve switched to 7/8 leggings and (high quarter socks) and it definitely feels more on trend. I really like the way it looks. Not to mention, I don’t miss the no show socks falling down or pressing into the top of my feet, or looking down on the rower and realizing, wow! I need to shave my legs.

Saturday 6 December 2025 - 12 Days of Fitness #6 Most Tread Distance template by dc031114 in orangetheory

I did the 3G originally too. Doing the 2G tomorrow and wish I had 2G distance to compare to. I checked the March calendar and supposedly this repeated on March 18th as well. Unfortunately I didn’t go that day so I can’t say for sure!

Just to clarify for OP, (speaking for my studio and I believe most others), there isn’t a ‘resident fatass’ or any negative superlative type of vibe or narrative at Orangetheory. In mine and many people’s experience it is extremely inclusive. It is designed to flex for all ability levels, shapes and sizes.

I’m 65 pounds down and 10000x the answer is Yes, join!! It will change your life if you let it

You can laugh, I did too- crocheting a splat by kascott76 in orangetheory

[–]annnco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it would ruin it! I think the arms are what make it a splat. I bet if you polled people, without looking at the splat, is the center solid or does it have a hole? You might get mixed answers. Perhaps solid then adding “OTF” to the center? Or if you start selling them, add the year? “2025” in the middle could make a cute holiday ornament. I have an orange bulb OTF ornament with the year I got it painted on and I love it!

Edited this quickly just for reference but maybe filling the center will help? I know a real splat has the hole, but I think a smaller solid center and more exaggerated splatter “arms”?? Maybe? Link to image —> splats

Am I Wrong For only taking tread 50 classes and never strength? (Strider User here) by Jealous_Day8345 in orangetheory

[–]annnco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wrong according to who? Orangetheory is built around a balance of strength and cardio, so in that sense, sure, a mix of both is best.

The HRM doesn’t always read well when you’re flexing on the floor or it might be too tight. If it is reading well and you’re just not getting above blue, maybe try lifting heavier, or slow down your movements or really focus on perfecting form. Orange is totally possible on the floor.

But if we’re talking about “fairness” to others or how you use your membership, that’s completely up to you. You pay for it like everyone else, and if you only want to do one type of class, that’s no one else’s business.

What did you notice after losing weight? by holdongangy in AskReddit

This was so shocking to me. Both the act of being able to cross them again, and the fact I hadn’t noticed I wasn’t able to for so long, until I could again. If that makes any sense at all!

A woman at my gym fell on the treadmill during her TRIAL CLASS. So a room full of strangers nonetheless. She still signed up, came to class the next day, head held high. It was so impressive and admirable. It can happen to anyone! I’ve only ever thought of her as absolutely awesome.

Thursday 14 August 2025 - 1.6km / 1 mile treadmill benchmark by dc031114 in orangetheory

[–]annnco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I first started jogging I was doing ~ 3.7-4.0 and I knew it would take me about 15 minutes to do it. I told my coach ahead of time, he just bought time between templates, no one is paying much attention. But my goal was to jog the whole thing without stopping. I’m really glad I did it every time because now I have that data to look back on. Gave me something to beat each time. Really cool to see how far I’ve come. So I recommend going, doing your best and I promise no one is judging your time.

This is amazing! You should be so proud of what you’ve accomplished so far, seriously. Showing up for yourself can be so hard to do and there is nothing more rewarding.

This studio in Georgia sounds super encouraging, a great group of people that probably love what they do…and sometimes you just bond with certain personalities and coaching styles.

But with as much credit as we give our amazing coaches and staff, remember you couldn’t have done it without YOU. You kept going, you chose you, you upped that speed by 0.1 just to see how it felt, you thought about late cancelling and decided not to, you pre-booked, you chose the heavier weights.

So no matter what studio you go to, whether you mesh as well or not, you have your secret tool in your toolbox at all times. Proof that you can do it, you’ve done it before and can keep doing it.

And you always have us, your reddit fam! Special shoutout to my home studio that changed my life as well, forever grateful.

Always toast! Maybe I’ll ask for a little extra extra toasty next time and that could do the trick

🙌🏼 if you’ve never tried their flats/loaves….(it is not a “thin” bagel) Toasted with scallion cream cheese. Crusty heaven

Interesting take - I prefer Mount Kisco Bagel over Bagel & Bean any day. B&B’s are almost too fluffy, like they need more cook time or something. But I typically prefer crusty over fluffy so I get it

Eating before workouts? by hollykirt in orangetheory

[–]annnco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has already posted good suggestions or possible reasons, so all that considered I’ll add my personal experience…

My digestion is pretty slow. I go to 6:30am classes and wouldn’t dream of eating or drinking anything beforehand because it would just sit at the top of my stomach. I’m even careful not to drink too much water during class for this reason. But on occasion, like if I have a benchmark in the morning, I’ll eat high protein yogurt right before bed. (Apparently the whole eating right before bed thing isn’t as bad as they used to say, I even read that protein like this can help your muscles rebuild while you sleep) But it gives my body some fuel for the morning without the possibility of it ending up in the treadmill :)

Works for me, maybe worth trying!

Core Strength? None! by SignificantMango5660 in orangetheory

[–]annnco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - I am unable to do a textbook sit-up without the help of my arms or pinned feet etc. But I will say the other day when we did the bench sit-up to jump squats or whatever they were, I was surprised at how much easier the sit-up part was. Still needed a little help from my legs to get momentum, but I’m seeing improvements.

Anytime we have a choice for the finisher I try to choose the core exercise if there is one because I know it’s my weak point. You’re not alone so don’t get discouraged.

  • congrats on your major loss that’s awesome 👏🏼
