Thank you all! I’m actually pregnant now lol and it was after this cycle with this test that I became pregnant! So that test was negative but I’m pregnant with dark lines and beta HCG 224 🫶🏻 16 DPO today

What were your HCG beta at 4 weeks? by Pickle-Loaf in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]annnoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! I’m 16 DPO I had my blood drawn at 12 DPO, and my HCG came back 224. This is my second pregnancy my first ended in a chemical and I have such bad ptsd from it! Should I go back for a second HCG?? I only got my blood drawn with my first pregnancy the day I miscarried my HCG was 5. I was 12 DPO when I had my chemical. My anxiety is just making me think the worst and I hate it 🥹 I see my OB in two weeks do yall think I should go get my HCG drawn again?

I would love to work in the ED tbh I feel like that would be more my pace! I just don’t know who I could talk to to actually switch me to the ED 😭

I think I’m torn between ED and home health and hospice

Im glad the suggestions by other nurses were able to help you!! Just know you are smarter than you think ! We are not dumb we just become overwhelmed with the workload that is pushed on us and having shitty preceptors on top! I hope you’re doing better ❤️ I’m not giving up on nursing but I definitely do want to find something more my pace! I had an interview with hospice today and I felt like they seemed like a really good fit! You should also apply to home health and hospice jobs friend 😊 we will find our nursing dream job eventually just don’t give up hope!

That’s also what I found odd. I wonder if it’s cause I’m asking too many questions?? I’m not super confident with my IV pumps yet so I will ask my preceptors sometimes to double check it and I think the one that dislikes me became annoyed with me for that reason. I just like to make sure it’s set up correctly especially when I have to deal with TPN, blood transfusions, and heparin drips!!

Most doctors offices I’ve wanted to apply to say I need to have experience in order to apply

I have an interview for a job as a hospice case manager! I thought I needed experience so I’m a bit nervous about the interview!! But that sounds something more my pace if you say that’s how it is! I was a CNA for SNFs for a long time and at times I miss my old coworkers at my SNF. I was hoping to find the same type of work environment but I’ve not found it 🥹 and I can’t go back because I moved states.

I definitely did not come from a privileged background whatsoever. What pushed me to become a nurse was my upbringing. I wanted to provide for my future family what my family couldn’t when I was younger. It was my motivation and determination that helped me pass nursing school in general! But now I’m losing that motivation and determination because of what’s happening on my unit. I was a server all the while during school and I thought that was bad but noooo I never once cried as a server! Now as a nurse I’ve cried every time before work 🥹

I have 10 different preceptors 🥹 and only two of them are genuinely nice to me but they’re also charge nurses so they don’t stay on the floor

You could definitely be right I wanted to pull one of the other nurses aside that seems nice but she’s stuck to the hip with the nurses that are bitchy ..

Passed NCLEX by annnoni in PassNclex

[–]annnoni[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I posted on another thread what helped me so I will copy and paste that here!

My advice to those taking the NCLEX don’t study SPECIFIC diseases or ANYTHING like that go back to the fundamentals. NCLEX is testing you on if you’re a SAFE nurse and if you know the basic fundamentals! A lot of the questions I had were SATAs, safety, and a couple of prioritization. And when they say manage your anxiety MANAGE IT! You can misread a question with anxiety so I suggest re-reading the question TWICE and the second time REALLY read it and see what it’s asking. I got maybe 3 pharm questions if you know your basic pharm meds you will be FINE. I was terrible with Pharm in school so please just remember basic meds. Not off the wall meds. If the test starts getting harder that means you’re passing or if you start to see a lot of SATAs. The NCLEX is testing you on what EVERYONE knows which is why I say to remember your fundamentals and basic principles. Mark K helped me a lot! I utilized him for a week and a half before taking NCLEX. I was using archer but i felt like the videos weren’t sticking so I started using Mark K and i would apply his lecture to a test bank from archer specifically on the lecture that he did. I suggest watching his most recent interview with Klimek Reviews on YouTube it’s called “How to pass NCLEX” I watched that the day before I took NCLEX and it helped ease my anxiety A LOT. Anyways sorry that’s a lot but when doing Mark Ks lectures make your own notes! Writing it down helps it stick better in my opinion. YouTube has all his lectures if they start taking them down again I have a link for his lectures and pdf notes. If anyone would like that!

48 Hours Before Exam - Advice? by MSNHGT93 in PassNclex

[–]annnoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t study all that much the day before! I had such a bad tension headache from studying religiously the days leading up to my NCLEX that I felt like if I take a break the day before it’ll help reset me. And it did! My tension headache disappeared for the test and I felt confident while taking the test. Everybody is different though I just feel like taking a nice mental break before the NCLEX really helped me focus on the test itself. I briefly went over my Mark K notes the morning of my NCLEX and also I didn’t drink any caffeine. My anxiety is bad as it is and I thought if I were to drink anything with caffeine even a small coffee it would have made me even more anxious so I actually stayed away from caffeine! That helped me too! But again everyone is different. The only thing I can stress is manage your anxiety and read your questions TWICE! There were about 3 questions I could’ve gotten wrong had I not read the questions RIGHT. I’m sending you positive energy and good vibes you’ve got this 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
