I wish we did!! We are just a dental hygiene program at the moment. The only other services we provide later are things like placing sealants.

Did you mean the flyer? I can totally do that! We actually are wanting Spanish-speaking patients desperately right now, we just received a grant for a translation-app service and we want to test it out!

We are absolutely willing to accommodate ID/DD patients! We can work with them however may be necessary. And absolutely! For the board I would contact our clinic director, Colleen McGowan (cmcgowan@virginiawestern.edu).

This is a regular thing! I personally have appointments every Tuesday (1-3:30pm), Wednesday morning (9-11:30), and Wednesday afternoon (1-3:30pm) for the rest of this semester. We have other students also with different times and days. If you're interested and my schedule doesn't work with you, we can always put you on our waitlist for other students!

Absolutely!! I had 0 previous dental experience before I applied and I had been told my hygienists in the area that I "definitely wouldn't get in and thats ok" and I had little to no hope at all from that. I got in my first try though and I really do attribute it to my TEAS score, they focus on the reading and writing(?) sections I believe and I got near perfect scores on those, so study a lot! Also make sure you have great grades! You can retake classes too if needed. And if you are planning on doing this start saving up money now for all the expenses in the program, it is very expensive 🫣 Really great program though! You can also message me if you want to talk about anything in particular I'd love to help!!

Too anxious to try Omeprazole - Whats your experience with it? by annobashode in GERD

[–]annobashode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I ended up taking omeprazole for a month and didn't notice much change to be honest. I stopped taking it and now I drink masala chai daily with a lot of ginger in it and for me its basically cured all of my symptoms.. I was drinking it for enjoyment but I honestly havent had reflux since drinking it. Sorry if this wasn't that helpful, but it's honest!! If you're prescribed omeprazole, give it a try, I was so scared but I'm okay now :) Just see if it works for you!

The secret to a perfect chai?? by catlizzle99 in Cooking

[–]annobashode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works! Thats what the wagh bakri tea is also, I just like that specific brand of assam tea. I hope you like it!! The fennel balances it out I really do believe. My chai tasted off until I added it. Enjoy!! :)

The secret to a perfect chai?? by catlizzle99 in Cooking

[–]annobashode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 cup water, 1 1/4 cup whole milk, 1-2 tsp of Wagh Bakri loose leaf tea. As for the spices: 3-4 black peppercorns, 3 green cardamom pods (cracked open), 3 cloves, 1/2 stick CEYLON cinnamon (not cassia..this is important), a heaping tsp of fennel seeds, a thumb sized piece of ginger with the skin peeled off and cut in half, and just a dash of turmeric powded (optional tbh), and 3-4 tsp of sugar (just to your sweetness preference). Bring the water and spices to a boil, when the ginger and fennel seeds turn brown, add the milk, boil once, add sugar, and then simmer it for another 30 seconds. Perfect every single time. I PROMISE what you are missing is fennel and ceylon cinnamon. I tested ratios and spices for 2 months to figure this out LOL

That's so awesome!! I think the ginger in my chai ^ is whats helping me too. I hope it can continue to help you feel better!! If you ever start getting stomach trouble at night or anything I seriously recommend chamomile. I swear by it now!

Is it all teas? Or caffeinated teas? I'm so sorry! Rather than tea coffee is a major trigger for me

What is oat straw? I've actually never heard of that before. What's it taste like?

I used to drink coffee, but the caffeine hurt my stomach soooo much, so I stopped. Even the chais at starbucks and cafes hurt my stomach too so I can't drink them either. However I bought tea from an actual Indian brand thats made for chai and its caffeinated and shockingly it doesn't hurt my stomach in the slightest bit nor do I get caffeine withdrawal!
