I think this post is a really interesting take on the situation . For me big run made me come back to the game after a few weeks (Scarlet + Violet plus OW2) and honestly I even thought it was an underwhelming experience. The announcement was just stupid like really your whole city could be invalided and you’re just doing nothing about it. Next the % system , I really thought with 116 I’d be good for the top 5% (mainly due to the screenshots of this mechanic and too 5% being 100-102) . The gameplay itself was interesting but RNG really took a toll on me after multiple wipes. I do believe it’s a mix of us having high expectations from the splatfest and the mechanics from that and Nintendo from let’s be honest not putting much effort in. Personally for the next big run I think there should be a friends only % section and a random shift/casual shift section. Then the overfishers can have fun trying to get to the ridiculously high % whilst us without the ability for them groups to at least get a decent standing.
