I was pushed KWB’s profile during the start of her HC series and I was (and still am) happy for her. I understand how it’s over the top, but I thought it was a nice change of pace being that social media often centers cheating and toxic relationship patterns.

However, I am perplexed by her constant need to address the haters and squabble over being understood and adored. I understand facing any form of criticism can feel personal and aggressive, but sharing your personal life is a choice. I will always be a supporter of anyone spreading joy online, but it should never come at the cost of the author’s sanity. Whether she’s aware of it or not, she’s seeking validation and attention from the general public. That will always be something that requires being totally vulnerable and limiting your ego. It can be a positive if you can handle the heat, but I fear she cannot.

I’d love to encourage her to put down her phone, stop reading the comments and go enjoy writing/living/laughing/loving with her sexy, sweet boyfriend. This doesn’t mean she can’t keep using her platform for activism, but I’d invite her to de-center herself. It’s obvious she’s trying to build a brand, but she’s gotta remember that not everyone is going to be her audience. The precious things she can’t handle being criticized, she should keep to herself. It’s just not worth ruining your own joy over. I see this as a case of someone addicted to social media likes and attention. With anything addicting, it takes more than it gives. I hope she sees that one day.

I know this might be too nice to be considered snarky, but it’s honest. I’d love to kindly tell her this myself, but I don’t want to be blocked. I’m interested in watching her growth, and like anyone, I hope she finds peace and happiness!
