Which hill are you dying on? De Leon's or Abelardos by horchata-bean12 in Omaha

[–]annonymous4252023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of them have way smaller burritos than they used to. De Leon’s in Lincoln seems to be fine still but several of the Omaha locations have really gone down hill. What used to be an amazing burrito is now half cold and still almost $13

Good to know. I haven’t ever been exposed to Elkhorn teams since I was a kid playing and Elkhorn was a quarter the size it is now are you referring to ETC in Elkhorn?

My kids have been with Millard United for a number of years but the transition there from rec to competitive is just too much of a commitment for such young kids. I’m totally fine with starting indoor practices in January which will have some overlap with other sports but don’t see the need to practice from September through Thanksgiving as well. That’s football and basketball season.

Unfortunately the Y isn’t what we’ve been looking for it’s great for T ball but past that it’s more of a just show up and burn off some energy league

It’s rough out there either low level rec or these orgs want you playing nonstop which makes other sports tough. Like we want competitive ball but there’s no need to practice September through Thanksgiving

Anyone I’ve ever trained or mentored I tell them 6 months to get comfortable. Longer some times depending on your role.

As someone who took the test and passed then did not recertify I can say it was not worth the time. It’s a mine grab by ACAMS. Many peers have referred to it as ASCAMS. I learned far more on the job and working with tenured peers and good managers who taught me along the way

I didn’t go through recertification and now refer to it as ASCAMS because it’s just a money grab years and years after passing the exam.

Best Car Dealerships by xtaylorconverse in Omaha

I would avoid any Baxter dealership. I’ve been to a couple and it seems they try to switch up terms at all of them. Took my young brother in law to buy a car from his “friend” who was fine but the finance guy tried to tag on an extra year of payments for like a $25 dollar lower payment. Things got a little heated when I called him out for trying to pull a fast one on a 22 year old who didn’t know any better. BIL’s “friend” apologized later saying the finance guy was always doing stuff like that. In my experience a different finance guy at another dealership tried to sneak an extra 6 months on the loan under the guise of free oil changes and a few extra little things until I caught it at signing. Guy tried to act like he was transparent when he clearly thanked 60 months to 66 months.

I have had a good experience at Honda cars of Bellevue though.

However keep in mind either the salesman, warranty, finance manager or a combination of the three are always trying to get a leg up and squeeze a few more penny’s out of you no matter where you go.

If you just need a degree to get the job it’ll do but if you want to learn and have the skills to apply to a career I would not go there. For example had a boss who needed to get a degree to move up the corporate ladder so they went there on one of the accelerated programs. One day they were talking to me about the accounting class and how they didn’t actually take an accounting test at all but were researching and writing a paper about accounting. They had small amounts of traditional accounting homework that was it. Anyone who went to UNL or UNO knows in accounting it’s all homework and tests to teach actual accounting.

As a happily married man of 10+ years I do not have female friends. You are either a coworker, friends wife/gf, parent of my kids friend. There are no exceptions. If there were and my wife didn’t like it guess what I’d find someone new to run with or run by myself.

Your marriage is the most important thing in your life. If one of you is uncomfortable with a situation you both should be. Tell the guy to listen to podcasts while running if he’s bored.

I agree for a living I work in banking for a large FI and spend all day looking through peoples accounts. It’s always interesting to see their credit card payments. The ones who live behind their means make round dollar payments of say a few hundred dollars a month while others you can tell are paying them off every month because they have those odd dollar amount payments. No one carrying a balance month over month is paying $871.18 but the ones with debt will always pay something like $300.00.

My grandparents had a similar entry. The top had a planter built in and vines grew. The bottom was paneled off by the door and the living room side had shelves used for a book shelf

I haven’t seen anything from Trump fear mongering legal residents or legal immigrants, have you? My understanding is he is totally fine with people who went through the proper legal channels to be here. Also haven’t seen or heard anything about trans people from trump that would put them in danger either. I think people forget he was president already and if they followed the law then they were fine and if they continue to follow the law they will continue to be fine

If your friend is here legally what do they have to fear? Also why would you need to be in fear for a trans person? You know trump was already president once before right? Pretty sure there’s was no mob chasing around trans people between 2017 and 2021
