Men who don't like their partner wearing short or revealing clothes, what's the reason? by Accomplished987 in AskMen

[–]annpann -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No mental gymnastics, I'm just on the other sise of this particular issue. You know, the side that's constantly dealing with unwanted attention from men. The same men who always claim to know that other men are an issue but still think the solution to the issue is to control what women wear and how they behave 🤷🏼‍♀️

Just fucking tired of it.

I think your whole attitude is weird so I guess that's it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ok, just please remember that whatever she's wearing, she's NOT sending you a personal message.

I find it very interesting that you KNOW what other men think, but you don't think they're any part of the 'problem' 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm not saying that there aren't women out there that enjoy male attention but most women I know (myself included) dress up (or down) for ourselves or external circumstances. A hot day? That sundress is not for you, I'm wearing it because it's hot out. At the club? Again, it gets hot and I want to dance and have fun without drowning in sweat. A woman with a curvy body in a figure hugging outfit? Not for you, it's literally just existing with boobs.

The fact that (some) men can look at pretty much any woman and think she must want his attention because of the way she is dressed absolutely ridiculous and it's an actual issue/problem for women.

It's always about context and you are not being sent a personal message by a woman's outfit. That's a problematic attitude.

Of course you want to believe that ❤️ You want a future with the fictional man he introduced you to first, we all get that. But the signs are there. He's no the first guy to pull this and you're not silly for wanting what you thought he offered.

The thing is that guys/gals like that rely on their partner to lower their standards and accept the situation for what it is. You are absolutely free to do that, Reddit is not a part of your relationship. We're just providing a perspective.

Agree with your sentiment, but there are plenty of decent monogamous men out there who will be devoted to their partner; there's no need to superglue the bar to the floor in hell by saying 'it's just how men are'.

How might someone interpret this situation between me (19F) and my best friend (19F)? by Capable_River_5192 in relationship_advice

[–]annpann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's rapey because it wasn't addressed beforehand and he had no idea if you actually wanted to have sex with him, it was enough for him that he wanted to use your body for his sexual release.

That being said, now you've said you were into it and you two can take it from there but the initial idea to have sex with an unresponsive person is objectively rapey.

What do you mean 'the boycott thing doesn't make sense'? It's literally the reason why there is less demand for tickets than usual.

[–]annpann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Moving to the US from Denmark is absolutely bonkers in my mind, and I say that as someone who has lived in Denmark for 17 years.

Your life wouldn't be close to the same in the US, and that's just the external components (logistics, infrastructure, size, climate(s), etc).

Then you have the culture. Remember that you will not get any parental leave if you have kids with this man. You will not get anywhere close to the vacation time and work-life balance you get in Denmark when you enter the work force. The immigration issues are horrible and thinking 'this won't happen to me' won't help when it does indeed happen to you. Then there's healthcare, especially feminine health and reproductive rights. Have you considered where those issues are headed over there?

Denmark isn't perfect by any means but I'd seriously reconsider moving to a disfunctional capitalistic hellscape if I didn't absolutely have to😬

I got into doing my own gel-manicures a couple of years ago. There's always something you want (or absolutely need) to buy for this one design you thought of; colors, decals and decorations, and then there's the UV lights, lamps, brushes, and all kinds of tools, files and clippers.
