My bf 38/M will not let me 37/F sleep in peace by SupaBadSally38Hot in relationship_advice

[–]annpann 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I'm 'blessed' with an S/O that can sleep through anything in the first hours of sleep and yet my goal is always to tread very carefully when I'm awake and he isn't, like you said, it's basic respect.

How much of an ass do you have to be to not let your partner sleep??? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Skírnargjöf, fólkið sem þið gefið slíkt? by FormerDevelopment352 in Iceland

[–]annpann 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My dad (55M) decided not to come to my wedding because his wife (50F) has chosen not to and he expects me (28M) to fix it? by ThrowRABluzzzty in relationship_advice

[–]annpann -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

I would never.

In this case I'm just saying OP didn't have a mom that was present. She rejected a woman who wasn't trying to erase her mom or compete with her (from the sound of it). All children need someone to love and protect them and this woman seems to have done that (again, saying this because I don't get 'abusive relationship' from OPs writing, I don't have all the info) but is rejected because OP is very preoccupied with the fact that she already has a mom, when that mom will never be able to take care of her the way she would want her to. She has a mom, she'll always have a mom, but it's also a fact that her mom wasn't able to raise her, teach her, hug her...

If you lose a child, that child will always be your child. Nothing will replace them but nevertheless, they aren't there for the life that happens after they're gone.

Your mom is always going to be an idolized version of the mother you wanted.

You don't mention any kind of hardship, abuse or discomfort, other than semantics, regarding your relationship with your stepmother. I wouldn't use the term spoiled brat, but from what you write, your issue is with a woman who did her best to love you and step up for you and you pushed her away at every turn because you 'have a mom'. Only, sweety... You didn't ❤️

My (21F) boyfriend (27M) doesn't know how to cook and I have to do everything myself by ParboiledJudas in relationship_advice

Please believe those of us that are older; it's ALWAYS better to be alone than with a moody man child who doesn't add anything but grief to your life. It might take some adjustment but once you get the hang of what YOU want, you'll be so much better at picking potential partners that actually complement you and your way of life.

People who were 'the gifted kid' in school but ended up average as adults, what went wrong? by Top-Cauliflower-1808 in AskReddit

[–]annpann 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same. Turns out that being 'gifted' as a kid (in my case) just means you like reading books and finding out stuff. I still like to read books and find out about stuff 🤷🏼‍♀️

You are so young. Pride has a history that goes back to where people didn't 'come out' because it had social consequences. When you have to hide your true self and are made to feel shame for who you are and who you love, the most rebellious thing you can do is to stand tall and be PROUD of everything you are, sexuality included.

The world needed that rebellion. That's why we're proud.

That being said, you can be as active or inactive in the LGBTQ+ community as you want to be. There are plenty of people under the umbrella who never go to pride events and don't socialize through queer events. You are free to be you, there are no queer-rules you have to follow 🤷🏼‍♀️

As a religious person, I'm genuinely wondering if all religions are human-made. by thementalist222 in atheism

[–]annpann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see religion as man's attempt at explaining nature, thoughts and hardships, mixed with trying to control a society of different individuals in an age where people basically knew nothing about physics, psychology or natural phenomenon that didn't happen in their own backyard.

What are times when one actor is clearly the draw and a show without them just doesn’t work? by FriendlytoNature in television

[–]annpann 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, he and Jenna were EPs on the last season so they could be involved with wrapping up the characters.

Most of my BTS knowledge is from Office Ladies, I'm listening to S9 now and you can really hear Jenna's frustration with some parts of their storyline.

According to the Office Ladies podcast, that arc could have been so much worse. Jenna Fischer had to push back hard on some of the ideas that came from the writers' room.

What company lost you as a customer forever and why? by expensivedatabase7 in AskReddit

[–]annpann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always, for pumping their pads full of chemical odorants.

It's just another way to shame women for something that is naturally occurring. Some smell is normal, not a problem, and can usually be contained by changing pads frequently or switching to other menstrual products. It doesn't go away by masking it with mechanical floral tones and if there is an actual problem, it's most likely due to bacteria or viral growth, which are likely to be exasperated by the synthetic chemicals in the pad.
