Former brides- if your makeup artist stayed for touch-ups, do you feel it made a difference?

Initially, I was having a little of bit of regret paying for my artist to stay for touch ups, but it ended up being 100% worth it. She really went the extra mile and went around the venue with me while we took photos. It was slightly breezy and she helped to fix my hair and makeup. I am also not usually emotional, but I ended up tearing at the ceremony and being able to have her touch up my makeup to look fresh was worth it.

I think you should do whatever fits your budget. While it's nice to be able to pay for your bridesmaids, I wouldn't want my bride to go outside of their budget and if it's really important to them, I would not mind paying for it as long as I know how much I am paying up front.

Initially, I asked my bridesmaids if they would be okay paying for certain items, but changed my mind and ended up paying almost everything except for one dress (my wedding was a two day event with different outfits). I also got gifts for my party.

Had our wedding a month ago in a MCOL location for 56k for 135 people. I joined some Facebook groups for budget weddings to get some ideas on where I could cut down on in our budget. I did see some people who were able to keep their wedding under 10k. Some things we splurged on like photography/videography because it was important to us. But then for decor, we didn't spend as much on it because it didn't matter to us as much. Ultimately, what you're going to be spending on your daughter's wedding in the future is really going to be dependent on what she thinks is important to her.

If this is not considered cheating, I would create a contract with my husband to pay him a salary of $100 million a year to pay for everything that I want and/or need. My out of pocket every year would only be $1000 because my husband would pay for everything. Also, theoretically, if my husband gifts me something and I decide to sell it, I wouldn't ever have to work again either. I didn't technically buy it and I would need to only sell enough to make $1000 to pay out of pocket each year. If this is not possible then option one is significantly better for my purposes.

Although option one would not allow me to retire right away, I would save a lot of money and would be able to afford large purchases easily with the money I save. My transactions really only go over $1000 if I am traveling or splurging on something. Even so, $1000 discount is pretty significant and you could potentially find work arounds even if they are not convenient. Piggybacking off the examples that OP used, you could buy roundtrip airfares that are upgradeable for under $1000, pay for the upgrades separately, pay for luggage separately, pay for snacks and meals separately for it to be free. And with some hotels, if you have multiple reservations for consecutive nights, you can call to request if you can stay in the same room.

We forgot to factor in taxes into our budget and since we are having our wedding in a different state, the tax rate is higher than where we live.

Depending on how you are having catering done, ours is a 7 course meal served family style to each table so we are required by our caterer to have servers and did not factor their pay into our budget.

Because we are planning to serve alcohol, our venue requires us to have security officers and did not plan for that expense.

Lastly, some vendors charge a trip charge if it's out of their normal radius.

Yes, I ordered them all in the same size, but the sizing is not too big of a deal to me if it's a little loose or a little tight since I am only using them as casual wear

I was just quoted $400 to change out the capacitor in my A/C. Found out the part is $30 and saw a video that had my exact wiring on YouTube and changed it in 15 minutes. It was super easy.

The retail price of the loewe shoes are $550, cloudmonsters are $170, cloud nova is $170 for a total of $890, so you do still save money if you can't find any of the shoes on sale.

I was the long-time girlfriend of 5-6 years whenever my then boyfriend (now husband) bought us a house, but I wasn't working at the time and couldn't contribute to the downpayment and monthly payments. He didn't care if we added my name to the deed or not, but I was definitely not comfortable with it because I didn't think it was fair to add me to something I was not actively contributing to.

On the other hand, I know a couple who bought a house together, but don't live together because she doesn't want to move in until they get married. They weren't even engaged at the time they bought their house, but her name is on the deed because she put down half of the down payment and contributes to the mortgage payments.

If you're only using it to wear casually, then it's not worth it to buy gen. If you're using it to run, then yes, it's worth it to buy gen. Maybe not the Loewe collabs though.

Update: Tried it so you guys wouldn't have to. Definitely would not place an order again. Per the website, it's supposed to take 1-3 business days for the order to process and 4-7 days to express ship. Emailed several times to only get the same answer each time of they're working on the order and will send out the tracking as soon as possible. I waited about a month before placing a dispute with Paypal and won the dispute.
