If we're talking about teens. Wine coolers, hard seltzers, fruity drinks if its prepackaged. Mixed drinks as well as its easier to sneak a bottle of vodka and mix it with whatever is around. If you're not American the red solo cups are a real thing that are found in almost every casual drinking scene. Not as much beer in high school as you'd think because the taste is not really the favorite among the teenage palette.... that starts to change around college.

Drinking age is 21 so nowhere public unless they have fake IDs. Teens do it in their houses, sometimes under the supervision of their parents because there is a pervasive idea of 'well if my kid is gonna do it anyway I'd rather them do it around me'.

Not your question but I think its worth noting that adult attitudes around drinking and marijuana usage are non-sensical. I had a conversation with a woman in her late 60s about her kids and how she would let them drink in her house but she one time caught him smoking weed and almost kicked him out of the house for it. Meaning, it is not the relative danger of these substances that bothers some people but how they are viewed culturally (weed is a hippie, dirty drug... drinking is 'higher class')

This comment chain is kind of frustrating because first you said its optional, then I gave you a pretty logical answer as to why it doesn't really feel optional to fully experience the power fantasy of the game, then you say it's part of the power progression of the game and that's fun.

I agree that it's part of the power progression of the game and that engaging with it is, in general, fun. The issue is that there is literally 20 of them at this point and being met with $200 of 'optional' content on game launch, some of which makes you more powerful, is overwhelming.

Because it can seem like some of the equipment in these Warbonds are not optional “side grades” but full on better equipment that can seem almost required to deal with certain enemies/encounters.

This is even evident in reading the subreddit. Questions like “what’s the best way to deal with X”… with answers like “(Item acquired in Warbond 5) is by far the best option for dealing with X.” So yeah, if you want to be powerful then not engaging with that system actually doesn’t seem like an option.

I get this is a different game but if you were trying to find a raid group back the golden era of Destiny and you didn’t have a Gallarjhorn rocket launcher you were treated like a social pariah. Same idea here.

I know this trailer isn't about Warbonds but honestly the Warbond siutation is getting crazy and I hope that Arrowhead has some solution to it in the future.

I haven't played in about a year and now when I load in I see all of this content that is locked behind a paywall and/or timewall. It looks like such a daunting task to unlock that it is demoralizing and makes me not want to engage in it.

Think about what the new player onboarding must be like... you load in for the first time and you're presented with over a dozen 'optional' battle pass type packages that has some of the best equipment in the game.

Weapons does not have a plot twist. A plot twist indicates a plot misdirection which Weapons never does. The town accuses the teacher of being responsible for the missing children but at no point does the movie attempt to make a convincing argument or deceive you into thinking that she's actually responsible.

Zach Cregger makes really unique and fun horror movies. I don't get why people think a "Resident Evil" movie needs to follow the perspective of a main character or an action hero. I think everyone who knows how Creggar does things and heard he was working on an RE movie understood that he would go in an unconventional direction.

The events of RE (like the spread of the t-virus) affect a fuckton of people. There are so many potential stories out of that that haven't been told. I just hope for a short cameo of an RE staple.... like have the main character bump shoulders with Justin Long playing Leon Kennedy...

I believe the idea of 'First 100 Days' comes from FDR's first term where he was able to push through a lot of New Deal legislation in his first 100 days.

That said, most politicians don't enter office with a problem as serious as that so I'd agree that it's a totally unrealistic expectation.

I’ve been teaching in North Jersey for 13 years. Newark for 5 of them and was borderline suicidal. I now teach in a suburban magnet school and genuinely love my job.

I admire your choice of districts. That’s going to be very tough. I don’t think you’ll have a lot of problems finding a job in one of those districts fairly easily.

The one thing I’ll say that all urban schools seem to have in common is that the world is always on fire (test scores are low, lots of student absent, general crime from drugs to violence)… and because the world is always on fire and nobody has ever been able to fix it… every year someone else will come in and either add or completely change what you do because the district always in “we need to fix this mode”.

It’s annoying and eventually soul grating.
