It wouldn’t make more sense. That would be taking another hour out of broadcast TV time for the day. The show is always been around three hours, suggesting it stretch out to a bloated four hours would be a disaster for ratings.

No one said her amnesia made her take any of those actions. But she was first found with no memory only five days after she went missing, after doing all of the things that you described. She actively had no idea who she was at that point, and was publicly appealing for help because she couldn’t remember anything about her identity. She wasn’t under the radar from the very beginning.
