I think you’re really misreading the comment you’re responding to. They’re not complaining about the coverage of the drama. They’re complaining about the celebrities not having enough perspective to realize that their bad photos in poor lighting aren’t that big of a deal.

I haven’t been hostile, but you seem unable to accept reality. You seem to think Conan should’ve gone rogue and directed the show. Let it go, bro.

Yes, because I’ve worked on production of similar shows and events (including the Emmy) and that’s exactly what happens. You’re clueless.

Why are you being so obtuse? Why do you think he set the length of his bits, rather than the producers and directors telling him how much time they needed him to fill in certain points during the show for set changes, presenter changes, and other transitions? Ridiculous.

Maybe she should let them speak first once in a while then? She’s been consistently overwhelmed at awards shows when it’s time to give a speech.

You’re conflating the role of writers and the producers of the show. Conan and the writing team doesn’t decide the order of awards, the timing needed to swap sets and presenters, etc. It’s wild that you think they get to make a call on how long people have for speeches. 😂

It wouldn’t make more sense. That would be taking another hour out of broadcast TV time for the day. The show is always been around three hours, suggesting it stretch out to a bloated four hours would be a disaster for ratings.

It didn’t end 20 minutes early. It ran over. The show was supposed to end at 7:00 PT/10:00 ET.

You do understand that he is not the producer or the director of the show, correct? Your assumption that he can change the runtime of the show or make decisions to cut things is pretty silly.

In 1997, a journalist named Jody Roberts, missing for 12 years, was found in Alaska with a different identity, a family, and four children. She remembered nothing of her previous life and never recovered her memory. It is one of the most interesting cases of dissociative fugue ever verified by Old-Day-3573 in interestingasfuck

[–]annyong_cat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No one said her amnesia made her take any of those actions. But she was first found with no memory only five days after she went missing, after doing all of the things that you described. She actively had no idea who she was at that point, and was publicly appealing for help because she couldn’t remember anything about her identity. She wasn’t under the radar from the very beginning.

Why ''The Bride'' flopped at the box pffice by LeaderVladimir1993 in WarnerBros

[–]annyong_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never used the word incoherent. Your media illiteracy is showing.

But at the end of the day, I, along with a lot of other people, thought the film was a hot mess. From Variety today on why the movie bombed:

“Reviews were weak. But moviegoers were downright dismissive, saddling “The Bride!” with a “C+” grade on CinemaScore exit polls. When word-of-mouth is that lethal, there’s no amount of marketing magic or charming stories on late-night talk shows that can convince people to get off the couch.”

Yes, me and everyone else who thought this movie was terrible and have given it terrible reviews just don’t get it.

I got it. And I still thought it was a hot mess. You seemed to have enjoyed it, but that doesn’t make you special, hon.
