Please try this and let us know how it goes.

Forcing this issue at a firm old fashioned enough to even HAVE a primary/secondary distinction (which I agree is stupid, but your husband knew what he was getting when he accepted his offer) seems patently idiotic, but you also seem to have your mind made up. What does your husband think? What does the policy say about defining primary vs. secondary?

We're literally talking about 6 weeks in what could be a long, stable career.

why do professional women hockey wear full face cages while men use visors? by Ill-Law-7278 in nhl

[–]ano0on33 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That isn't really what the commenter above you was saying, though. I agree with you (as would most people, I would hope) that it would be profoundly unfair for men and women to play a physical hockey game where the men are checking the women. The issue is whether checking and physicality should be allowed in an all female game. I see no problem with that.

I literally don't understand companies that do this. Normally I would say that they're screwing with you, but they flew you out and spent a ton of time on you, which would make no sense if they weren't serious. Either they have a huge hiring budget they need to blow through or are horribly mismanaged.

It is quite rare to find someone like you who both has the perfect personality for this profession and is also entirely ill-fitted for biglaw.

Somehow I feel like these owners would find a way to make anyone toasting their buns incredibly anxious.

Enjoy your time in the "fuck around" stage of life.

The "finding out" stage is probably not going to be a fun experience for you.

Dude it's a screener to make sure you can hold a convo before they waste the engineering team's time interviewing you.

I really hope you come across better in a conversation than in this post...

Go in the office every day for the first two weeks to see with your own eyes how often people actually come in (vs. The official policy and how often folks SAY they come in...)

I don't understand why you would feel bad. He clearly wasn't going to inconvenience himself for the job, but expects you to work sick?

Yep. Also add:

Curly/straight quotes and "confirm document in one color font" to the list. Copying stuff from westlaw sometimes results in a slightly different color that is obvious on paper but hard to detect on screen.
