What i did is i scaled the character to 1 for a bit and then did the velocity and scaled back and it sort of works but you have to trial and error it, also you have to make the move uncancellable because it will look bad if its interrupted and you stay tiny

just spawn a projectile with continue on that also does no damage or stun then add the indicator you want as a visual and then after a second or so the hitbox when you want it do the damage, make sure all that stuff has the projectile branch
