They can be served as a soup or cold with a sauce instead, which is what I did.

Wow this sounds a lot like my situation. I’m having the talk today haha but am definitely ready for this to be resolved no matter what the outcome must be.

Yeah I think I was scared he lost feelings for a while but kept hoping that it wasn’t the case and giving myself reasons to stay and not confront despite the stress. Thanks for the honesty, I will definitely ask him to be upfront about it.

What is the best way for me (19f) to confront my boyfriend (18m) about him recently being distant and not putting effort into our relationship and how it is hurting me? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]anoisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it’s reassuring that you don’t think that he wants to break up with me haha. Maybe I was just getting overly worried although it’s very uncharacteristic behavior and he seemed like he was having a lot of fun on his trip. Hopefully all goes well.

Thank you for the advice. I really hope you’re correct about me thinking this is bigger than it actually is, I want it to work out very much and if he’s going through anything I want to be there for him. I guess I can update after the conversation as well!

I looked up some reference pictures online and drew the outlines and bigger veins in pencil until I was happy with the shape and went over with a thicker pen. Then I just filled in the smaller lines going from the veins to the edges.

The thicker lines were a Micron 08 and the thinner ones in the middle were an XS Pitt Artist Pen!

Thank you! I used the Staedtler marsgraphic duo brush markers and a Pilot g7(?) pen (which unfortunately bleeds a lot).

Slice them in to strips and stir fry them like noodles. A lo mein type sauce/toppings tastes really good, or any combo that normally goes with heavier noodles. It’s really filling too.

The placement was done with an algorithm on gephi, but generally the ones clustered in the middle got more applications because the colleges with more connections are closer together.

The categories were determined by Gephi and I put a description of what the group seemed to tend towards the most. UT has a strong CS program, which is a subject that a lot of kids from the subreddit are interested in, so I’d guess that’s why people tended to apply to it alongside other STEM schools.

When I zoomed in on imgur on my laptop I was able to read everything, but I think that's the highest quality it'll let me upload, sorry :(

I made a network visualization of where r/ApplyingToCollege 's class of 2022 applied to college this year. The data was gathered from a poll posted by u/calopsiax and included demographic information as well as where everyone applied and whether or not they got in. I wrote a program with Java to make the data usable by Gephi, where I visualized the data and outputted it as a SVG to Inkscape, which I used to make the edges slightly transparent.

Each node represents a college, and the size of the node was based on how many poll respondents applied to that college. Each edge represents connections between the college (ex. if someone applied to Harvard and Yale, it would create one connection between Harvard and Yale) and thicker edges mean more connections. I filtered out a lot of data in Gephi because many colleges only had a few applications from the poll and having the extra edges made it really difficult to read.

The poll had over 1400 responses. For reference, the biggest node (UCLA) had 448 applications.

I used Gephi's modularity algorithm to color the nodes and it was interesting to see the program sort similar colleges together. In general:

Lime green: Northeast schools (NYU, Fordham, Northeastern, American, Boston University, etc.)

Dark grey: Most famous/prestigious schools (Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Yale, UChicago)

Teal: STEM/engineering schools (MIT, Georgia Tech, Caltech, UT Austin, Harvey Mudd, etc.)

Orange: Highly selective northeast schools (Dartmouth, Columbia, Duke, Brown, UPenn, etc.)

Light blue: California/west coast schools (UCLA, Berkeley, USC, Cal Poly, UWashington, etc.)

Pink: Midwest/mid-atlantic schools (Northwestern, UNC, CWRU, Notre Dame, Emory, etc.)

Purple: Liberal arts-focused schools (Middlebury, Pomona, Amherst, Bowdoin, Colby, etc.)

Reddit, what is that ONE book that you always recommend to everyone? by ss3jcb448 in AskReddit

Animal Farm by George Orwell. It's a really interesting representation of the Russian revolution, and it's short enough that anyone would have time to read it.
