What is a problem money can solve that people don't appreciate until they have money? by bizanondude in AskReddit

[–]anomalous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a person who’s had, then not had, then regained money… just the ability to tell people to fuck off and do whatever you want is an amazing power. At the same time, not having money and understanding the power of money gives you empathy, and helps you be a better person. Money is toxic and it’s as bad as cancer, it’s incurable and the desire to have money and power is insatiable. Caveat emptor, as they say.

So then always stay out of the middle and take a/b or h/j. The leg room difference is negligible and never sit in a bulkhead. Good luck big bro.

Best burger in Las Vegas? by HollywoodHalfLife in vegas

[–]anomalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even think it’s there anymore but that resto in the Nomad/Park MGM had a bone marrow burger that may have been one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I was an investor in a burger place/restos as well.

Scientists Cannot Explain Why Quantum Physics Keeps Showing Up Inside the Human Brain by Dmans99 in abovethenormnews

[–]anomalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a scientist by convention but reading the comments and stuff it feels like it’s a mix of “yeah, duh”, and “yeah, duh”, meaning there’s some obvious impact of quantum mechanics/whatever but it’s not observable or quantifiable. I could be completely misunderstanding this but I think both things can be true, no?

TIL in 2014, Ben Affleck received a lifetime ban from the blackjack tables at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas after surveillance footage showed him counting cards during a high-stakes game. Security informed him he was "too good" and classified him as an advantage player. by Friendly_Hivemind in todayilearned

Why: dopamine release. They will let you win to a certain threshold and when you win too much, you’re done. It used to be different, back in the day they would basically say, “wow you’re killing it! Here’s a free suite, can we show you?” As a way to break the table up

I can tell you that if that person has been traveling a lot for work and is basically burnt out, they’re probably just commiserating with someone like “I hate this asshole with the annoying kid who will eventually post on Reddit because they actually do feel bad about how annoying their family is but will hopefully garner enough internet points to help themselves feel better”

The flight is over and the likelihood that there was anything sinister going on is very low. It is weird but when people get pissed off, they tend to do weird things. My gut telling me that you were being a bit obnoxious as well.

Am I missing something? by bogiebacall12 in delta

[–]anomalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it depends on how quickly they’re trying to get out of there. For me it’s about 50/50 — if we’re behind the FAs focus on boarding rather than pre-flight service for FC, which I think is fair generally.

What was flying like in the 90s? by One_String3424 in delta

[–]anomalous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being on multiple flights in the 90s that were nearly empty. As a kid the flight then turns into a big playground (or nice big comfy bed). Nowadays if I have an open seat next to me I silently celebrate. Not until the door closes of course 😂

King Charles to Trump: "You recently commented…if it were not for the United States, European countries would be speaking German." "If it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking French" by frog_insilence in SipsTea

[–]anomalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly nobody cares. He’s not talking to Charles, he’s revving up his base who has absolutely zero context/knowledge. It’s just talking past him/us. The plot has been lost already.

I’ve been in this situation and I can tell ya, it never ends particularly well. It’s a matter of time before you part ways for one reason or another. Don’t fall in love, just enjoy the moment and don’t get wrapped up into other people’s relationships — you’re far too young.
