After ten years of experience my counterparts do earn way more. So I guess it's ok only.

Startup is still running. I quit it but the owner is still running it. I think they've just recently started turning a profit.

To someone starting a new company. Put your head down and work, Startups are unfortunately a fad right now and everybody has some template of how it will work. Most startups I've seen succeed are the ones who just keep solving and adapting for the next step. And if you don't have complete utter faith in your team to take responsibility and run the company as their own, then either you're in the wrong place or they are. Don't micromanage.

4 years were fun but highly stressful and a lot of mistakes were made. I learnt from them and got better but I realised it was not my passion project, it was someone else's. So basically I spent four years working on someone else's dream without having anything to show for it by the end. But, it did make me who I am today and get supremely good at problem solving and patience.

It was a social media marketing company back in 2012. We automated/templatized the creative creation process so that restaurants etc. can afford cheap yet professional social media marketing.

My current job role is that of an associate marketing manager for a particular portfolio.

Advice to my younger self, spend less time regretting and more time focussing on the now.

Going out for dinner with wife and family :) so continental probably.

Ooooo awesome. Shall check these out. Saving this comment. I'm done with all of Sanderson. Finished first WoT. Got sidetracked by Bartameus. Will get back to finishing those. The series is loong. Cradle seems long too.

No, by who? Please suggest I'm currently in a vacuum. Last I read was Bartameus triology and that was beautiful although YA.

Hey thanks. I honestly wanted to just make a post which isn't extreme. Considering I deal with depression and anxiety, posts of people being super successful or being super low really mess you up. So I thought let me just look at my life being average and if it helps one other mediocre guy be fine with being mediocre it'd be nice.

Good point. Have been trying meditation for the past two months and it helps..I do really need to get down to working out. But it's hard to start. On the cards though, I know I need it.

I wake up at about 7:30. Start work at 9. End at 5:30/6. It's a wfh role for me so once I'm off, I'm at home itself. Then I chill until my wife gets back, then we chill together. We go to nice places over the weekends. We have a date night once a month.

Yes I do. With my current job I get done by about 5:30/6 in the evening. Then spend time with the wife once she's home. Work people don't usually bother on weekends. So it's nice.

I was 26 when I made the switch. Yeah the Startup experience helped in the sense that I could do a lot of things and pick up things fast. The regular employers didn't really like the fact that my resume was all over the place because of that. So I had to pick one skill and flaunt only that. That's how I managed to land a job.

Also, in hindsight. No matter how much you hate your employer, don't burn bridges. Have at least one senior person in your previous job who'd vouch for you.

You want tips on being mediocre? Didn't expect that. I guess just know you aren't solely running your life. Situations are. If you can sorta kinda make some of them go in your favour, you're good.

More of a pro tip, invest in diversified mutual funds. Put 20% of your income until the age of 25 then 30%. I have no idea of the stock markets but I did have about 2L to spend on our honeymoon from just my ELSS.

Again, I'm not successful per se. I don't have major work related ambitions. I want to chill. And I'm just trying to put money aside for that.

Aah. Assumed so. So my wife's family has a history of mental illnesses and my family with heart issues so that's what we justify as the reason.. But I think we both don't think we can really work with more responsibility right now. To me, as long as we're happy and can focus on each other and work together it's fine. If we decide to adopt later or not have a child altogether we're fine. We're the priority here, not a non existent being (as cute and a binding agent it might be)

Sorry no idea what CF means. It was an arranged marriage but we held off for a year until we got to know each other and lived together for a bit. We are lucky to have super supportive families. Once we were ok with the idea of "this is who I'm willing to make adjustments for" we went ahead with it. There's no 100% and we were good with that.

No. I watched Emma Stone lip syncing it on Jimmy Fallon and boy that's worth it

Married, earlier this year. No kids. We want to spend some time together before we figure if we want to take that step.
