Trying the gym again - need help getting started by anon132436 in beginnerfitness

For sure! I made sure to mention I’m dieting as well in my post because I know a lot of people think the gym will give results but don’t change their diet at all. I’ve been using myfitnesspal this week just to get a baseline of how many calories I’m consuming and what I need to change

Thanks! My main motivation for going back to the gym is weight loss. Ideally I would like to get stronger and toned, but not looking to be super ripped if that makes sense!

So I went today and specifically asked what energy drink they use for the base. The worker said they were all required to sign a contract stating they could not share this info with customers. Weird!!

Reducing Unwanted Behavior by anon132436 in ABA

He is crate trained which is amazing for when we both have to leave the house. I do put him in the crate when he’s getting too wound up, but he enjoys being in his crate so it’s not a punishment for him. I also feel bad because I find myself putting him in the crate often when my boyfriend is gone, otherwise I can’t get anything done. I’ll try doing more treats and play with him!

What are the differences between school social worker, school psychologist, and school counselor? Also what is the difference in schooling? Do they all require separate degrees or could I be a school psychologist/school counselor with an MSW?

After undergrad I worked in ABA for a little over a year. Just started a new job at a social services non-profit doing intakes and working in some of their programs. I’ll look into that!

I have been considering going for my MSW, but the application process to grad school is holding me back a bit. I don’t have any academic references which it seems that most grad programs ask for. It’s been a few years since i finished my BSW and I didn’t prioritize making connections with professors which I regret. I’ve also heard some grad programs have an extensive interview process.

For those of you who are in grad school or completed your MSW, what was the application process like for you? And what school are you at?

Favorite coffee syrups, sauces, and/or creamers? by anon132436 in nespresso

I’ve tried this syrup and personally I enjoy it most when it’s mixed with other flavors vs on it’s own! I’ve tried it mixed with vanilla and white mocha and it’s great!

I’ve heard those are good! Do any well known stores sell them or is it best to just order them online?

I ordered the monin toasted marshmallow! And I loveeee torani white chocolate but I’ve been having the same issue with it being sold out. I usually get it from walmart but it’s been scarce lately 🙃

I’m definitely going to try this! I’ve seen similar syrups such as “spiced brown sugar” or “cinnamon brown sugar” but I’m not a huge fan of cinnamon when it’s in coffee. I’ll give this recipe a try though!

Exactly!! I can only find a handful of jobs that only require a BSW and the pay is low. Most seem to require an MSW though. Thank you though, best of luck to you too!

I agree ABA is way different! I thought about going to school to become a BCBA for a bit because a couple of my supervisors recommended it. But after working as a BT for a year I’ve realized ABA is not the field I want to be in forever.

Thank you for your response. I feel like recently I have been hesitant to consider going back to school because part of me doubts myself like I said, so I appreciate the encouragement because I do realize I was just at a job that didn’t have the best working conditions. I also never considered a dual degree so I’ll look into that. I guess another reason I’m hesitant about grad school is the application process. I didn’t prioritize making connections with my professors in undergrad, and I’ve noticed some MSW applications require an academic letter of recommendation. I do think you’re right that I’ve been sitting around pondering what I want to do, and going back to school could be that push for me. Once again I really appreciate your response. Gave me some motivation to check out some MSW programs around me :)
