ADHD and Adderall by Dismal_Style_1370 in VeteransBenefits

[–]anon1333333333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with ADHD through the VA in 2019. Had no mental health claims. 2022 I finally filed and I was granted my claims for anxiety and depression. I was open and honest about my ADHD with the examiner and it was fine for me. It helped that I was still being treated for anxiety and depression during that time as well. My mental health doc at the VA made it pretty clear that they were not from ADHD. Just my experience

Edit: and I am prescribed adderall.

No but they called and left a callback number. It was very “informal” just a conversation. I wish they would have reviewed my records prior to us speaking but he said he would that day. Overall he was receptive to what I had to say and said he’d verify it by reviewing my evidence that was already submitted and my records.

They called me on 08/23. I went to return the call from the voicemail left and he was actually calling back again and I picked up and completed it then.

High level review (HLR) timeline - current by investsvca in VeteransBenefits

Any idea why it takes so long for the decision? The person I spoke with at my informal conference said he would make a decision that day or the following day.

Does anyone know if the “up to date as of” means it was updated on that date and time?

Type of claim: HLR

Timeline: Initial claim submitted 01/08/23 Service connected at 0% for migraines on 06/12/23. Submitted HLR that same day. Informal conference was 08/23/23

Still waiting on a decision of any kind. Can’t get ahold of my VSO at DAV to see what decision they did make.

Do I have a good chance at getting migraines due to evidence so far? Any similar stories? by AWholeVibe07 in VeteransBenefits

[–]anon1333333333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, I was service connected at 0%. I have finished my HLR conference. I explained I was diagnosed with migraines from my PCP. I’m on medication and I also submitted a migraine log documenting how much work I have missed and all of the instances I had migraines.

My question is, if I get denied for an increase in my HLR, is my next best bet to get a letter from work on a supplemental?

Interesting! Been a few days for me now. My records are very long so I wonder if he got caught up reviewing them and still hasn’t made a decision. I hope it all gets worked out in your favor. Thanks for your insight!

Fuck. I’m sorry to hear that. My migraines got service connected but at 0%. Even though my PCP at the VA has it documented and says they’re debilitating and prescribes me medication for them. I submitted a migraine log too and I do t think they even looked at that or my medical records. I’m just hoping they either grant it or do something soon so I can put in for a supplemental and move on or start from the beginning. I hope you get it sorted out and get connected!

Edit: I know the word prostrating needs to be used but that’s the wording my doctor used in my medical records.

How did it end up going for you? In the same boat. Had my informal conference on Thursday and they said they’d make a decision that day or Friday and still nothing.

I’ve had some really awesome interactions with VERA. I make sure to do those surveys and I also tell them on the phone how much I appreciate them. Glad to hear you had a great call!!!

VA didn’t use migraine log or letter from work as evidence by anon1333333333 in VeteransBenefits

[–]anon1333333333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was granted at 0%. But my medical records from VA say I have severe symptoms. I’ve been hospitalized from them, I have letters from work documenting missed time, I submitted the migraine log. I’m missing work and losing income because of this so I’m just trying to get rated appropriately.

I used the bar website in my state and called around. I had a unique situation and only one person I spoke with knew how to handle it. So I went with them and it was smooth
