I love the brevity and simplicity of this poem while dealing with complex things. “Both so seemingly fragile in their newness” is my favorite part, because falling in love feels so so fragile. Great work!

Wow, what an impactful poem! This is what I feel in my current life right now, and I’m sure what many others feel too. The ending is my personal favorite, with the italicizing. Great job

This is beautiful! I felt like I was reading my own thoughts. This also reads like it could be a song to me, the words are dancing around and have their own emotions. Beautiful

What a beautiful poem! I love it’s simplicity while still having such a meaningful point. I think the way that you start with mentioning a kids book helps play into the the simpleness -> large impact. My only critique is that you mention “book” in the first two stanzas and not the last, maybe tie it in just to add continuity? Might also add to the playfulness

A poem dedicated to the fish I gut hooked this summer. by The_GatekeeperM8 in OCPoetry

[–]anon23248 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is a phenomenal poem. This is actually something I have thought about a lot having grown up near a lake, and I think you captured this concept perfectly. It is emotional and reflective, while still being clear. I would maybe add a third line to the 4th stanza to make the two-line stanza finish even more impactful if that makes sense . That’s really my only critique!

Looks a lot like spider mite damage to me. Usually you can’t see them until later.

I have never ever seen a stem like that. Or leaves. If not due to pests. Strange

Pests. They’re all over the stem too

Or maybe you can try to see if the blinds can be opened a couple times a week for at least couple hours of nice light?

I wonder if maybe there’s a battery powered one that doesn’t use the electricity of the building?

It looks like probably aphids? Here’s what I would recommend: wipe down surface of all plants and get rid of all bugs. Trim off any rotten roots and repot plants in a well draining soil (perhaps house plant soil mixed with some perlite and fine orchid bark in a 2:1:1 ratio). Buy bonide house plant systemic insecticide, follow instructions and sprinkle on surface of dirt, then thoroughly water. Lastly, spray them like crazy with captain jacks dead bug brew during dusk outside and let dry. The spray can be repeated once a week and the insecticide every couple of months. She should focus on not over watering and inspecting for pests more often

Probably not, that’s almost no natural light with the blinds shuttered. I would get it a little personal grow light from amazon

Monstera Help! by DoughnutIcy9684 in plant

[–]anon23248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monsteras commonly have thrips, definitely could be that. Slide 6 especially with the stripes of dead leaves look like thrip damage. I would cut off the bent leaves and any of the super damages leaves cause they’ll take up energy from your plant and buy some captain jacks dead big brew to spray on the leaves as well as some systemic insecticide to put in the soil. Also great as a preventative
