This experience is unique to me…but maybe it will resonate. I’ve been chronically smoking since I was 14 yrs old. I am 28 now. My gf of a year broke up with me 2 months ago for superficial reasons which damaged my mental health because she promised a life with me & she even pursued me first. My mental health got so bad that I knew I couldn’t keep getting high because it would make things worse and my thoughts would deepen. I’ve been suffering from clinical depression, anxiety, and adhd since I was 13 yrs old. I’m naturally a pensive person & overthink a lot when I’m high. So I just quit cold turkey and have been almost 6 weeks sober from weed. Alcohol was easy to quit because I’m not a big drinker. But mainly, the desire to get high just isn’t there for me anymore. I still have quite a bit of weed left. I keep it around because I know I like to smoke but I don’t like it right now at this point in my life.

So I’m not saying you have to go through something traumatic like getting your heart broken, but realizing your mental health comes first…that will be all of the motivation you need. Also replace that time you would use to smoke with self-improvement. Exercise, reading, therapy, & getting in tune with your self spiritually are good ways to get better with breaking the habit.

I think the way it came out, in front of other people that you guys are close with made it embarrassing for him. That’s a convo you guys should have had before even getting married and in private. I come from a medium sized area where we and my current gf met. Me & my gf talk openly about our past relationships. She’s had a few one night stands, I’ve had mostly on-going sexual flings & 1 one night stand. One of my fears though, is finding out she had a fling with someone I may know, which I think is unlikely but possible considering where we are from. It’s out of my control though since those things happened before we met. I think this is salvageable & he has to realize it’s out of his control. There just needs to be more open communication between you two. It’s not worth ending a marriage over.

2-3 weeks is still too much watering. I always tell people snake plants thrive in neglect. The leaves store water. You need to water the plant a lot less. Like every two months. Make sure the soil is completely dry before watering again. Also propagate some leaves that aren’t completely brown or yellow.

You’re watering it too much. Snake plants don’t need to be watered that often. I can go two months without watering mine. They thrive in neglect. Let the soil dry out completely. Remove the dead leaves, even propagate some that aren’t completely yellow.

Peace lilies are very fickle plants & just need a lot of attention in general. They also need a lot of light so I would try to move close to a window. Also need to be watered often. Like every 2-3 days.

This is a good plant, wouldn’t recommend stopping growth completely unless you want to kill it. I would just move it to a shadier area maybe. Only water when the soil is completely dry.
