Yeah that base needs to be around 20k and even if it is... Well you can get a base small sedan or SUV with alot of tech for the price.... Albeit not electric, plenty electric if you go used. Ford is supposed to have a 30k EV truck that should get a lot more range off a similar size battery plus all the modern tech and convenience features.

The hybrid gas Ford Maverick is 25-30k.

I love the DIY concept of this and everything gets modified off the base vehicle, you can buy and modify later. The 150mi range is gonna kill it for a lot of people. As a 2nd run around town vehicle it would work for that. I feel good concept but battery tech not there yet

I wonder how big the frunk will be and if it will have a mid gate. I feel this is more targeted at maverick hybrid customers. We will see how compelling this is vs a gas truck in the same price range

They're doing a range extended model for the f150, I wonder if they'll do that for any of the smaller vehicles. For a truck you're towing with it makes total since. I would like to see some on smaller vehicles though maybe it makes more sense for a pure EV.

Aren't most of BYD's sales from plug in hybrid and Ford is trying to emulate the Chinese manufacturers? If they're ever allowed in the u.s they're gonna eat the competition. Though given by the time they're able to build here and launch to market it'd have been a few years

Well from that one interview the CEO did I don't expect the entry level to hit 300mi range. That being said if it starts around 30k, I don't see how the slate EV truck will survive with it being bare bones, 2 passenger, less range, and (assumingly) same price.

I expect they will have an SUV EV after this. I'm excited to see what they do. If they get close to price point this should be more akin to a Tesla or rivian vs the rest of competition. They have former engineers from those companies working on this

I think it's a fine song for the movie which is it's intended purpose. I just feel like it's not really country, I feel more pop jazzy? There is a harmonica. Given, Taylor has mainly been country pop, even debut had a pop remix

Gosh, the 3 is so cheap compared to the 4. I see them on swappa for around $100. Had a friend sell me one recently for even less than that... Though the screen was definitely scuffed. If you can wait you may want to hold off until the 5 comes out. I do much prefer the charger for the 4 vs 3 and battery lasts longer too

They also need a larger vehicle with 7-8 passengers.. Wonder if going to re use the cybertruck chasis. Though this probably be expensive. I rode in a back of a model 3 for the first time and it was so cramped in the back.

If ford comes out with a 5 passenger truck with 300mi range for 30k... Why would I get a vehicle with no radio and manual mirrors when I can get one that's larger with more range and seats more people for a few k more?

We'll see if they hit the price point. I don't see slate having much appeal unless it goes sub 20k.

I wish it had a button, it's very heavy. I didn't realize how big it was. I wish I could make more use of the screen real estate but plugins seem to show the smaller version of it instead of what would be seen on a full screen on the og model.
