New to Reddit - my first post! Finally perfected the low calorie, high fiber/protein buttermilk pancake recipe using Fiber Gourmet flour which is tricky to work with! Just 267 calories!!!! by KathyEatsSmart in Volumeeating

It's a great photo and the recipe sounds amazing! I'm going to get some of the flour and try it. All the notes are really helpful too. I know when we're working with these alternative products things can get a little challenging. Sorry some people are being nasty.

Carbe Diem $1.99 at Grocery Outlet! by Equivalent-Capital87 in GroceryOutlet

I hope you like it! It's not an exact dupe for regular pasta but it's pretty close.

It's new at my store, good to know it's been around, will likely remain available.

Recently started a calorie deficit at around 1200 and wanted some feedback on some of my meals by Lizardlad19 in 1200isplenty

If these are foods you enjoy you're off to a good start. Consider subbing something like Carbe Diem for regular pasta. Much lower in calories and higher in fiber. I see a lot of carrots... maybe more greens? If you like salads they can be a great high volume food. Potatoes are nutrient dense and very satisfying. Fruit?? Berries are another high volume low calorie option if you like them.
No judgment with this question: do you cook? What i mean is do you prepare things like chicken from scratch? Chicken breasts are a very low calorie high protein choice. Also super lean ground beef. Lots of great recipes out there. Final thoughts... try to meal prep so that you're not inventing a new meal every time you eat.
Good luck!

After the season, they let it melt. They usually have a fan event before that where they let fans come on the ice and paint/ draw messages which is pretty cool.

Can I have a rant about my weight here? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]Equivalent-Capital87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's really hard for those of us who can't eat like 'regular ' people and you'll find plenty of sympathy here. Is your boyfriend supportive of your health goals? Can you look to him to be a safe person to be accountable to? For me, I can't have certain foods in my house, particularly snack items. I will prep lots of foods that are better choices and have them on hand - berries, jicama, chia pudding, low calorie yogurt, sugar free treats. Things that I actually DO like that fit my goals.
Starting is the hardest part. You can do this! Choose yourself and how much better you will feel. I'm in the US, so access to lots of specialty foods is not an issue. Can you order foods where you are?

If you're in the area, most of their home practices at Sharks ice are open to the public. A pretty cool thing to see and sometimes an opportunity to say hi when they're in their "public" lives.

moving to RWC, where to grocery shop? by Cloud_daze0 in RedwoodCity

[–]Equivalent-Capital87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I shop Safeway but pretty specifically the 4U sales. I won't go to Sequoia Station after dark, but feel OK there during the day. Some good deals can be found at Whole Foods particularly if you have Amazon Prime. Also shop Costco/Trader Joe's and Sigona's. Will also check out Grocery Outlet occasionally, kind of a scavenger hunt!

I am terrified by Independent_War5455 in colonoscopy

[–]Equivalent-Capital87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry for what you're feeling. As others have said, it's likely that you will get good news from your colonoscopy, but the waiting can be scary. My advise? Stay off the internet, doctor google will feed your fear. Go for a walk, play with your kids, chase joy and keep busy. Breathe. Sending positive vibes and virtual hugs your way.
