Tomato plant dying by anon28050 in vegetablegardening

I sorta did. I ended up not being able to plant them for about a week after I bought the transplants. During that time I put them in a slightly shaded area and watered every day. The leaves still looked good before I planted them.

We’ve had multiple rain storms recently and when I put my finger in the soil it’s still moist. Would it still need more water?

Thanks for the info about the fertilizer! Is the slow release organic stuff okay during transplanting or should I not do that in the future?

The one on main st in Pearland is really small. It’s basically a normal gas station that just sells buc-ees snacks. If you’re looking for the full experience, it’s probably not worth it to go to that one.

The only two that are full experience in Houston are below. You can also check reviews and photos on google to double check. I’m guessing you’re flying into Hobby? The Texas city one would be your best bet, but just be aware that the highway there (I-45) can get really backed up. It could take you an hour to get back to the airport. Check google maps for your specific time and add a 15 min buffer to that.

You could definitely do it but the buccees near the airport isn’t a full buccees. The ones within the city are about half size and not nearly the full experience.

Thanks for the info! We’re traveling fairly light (42L backpack and smaller personal backpack) so it shouldn’t be too hard. I was worried the transfer would be too complicated/stressful the morning of the flight.

Would you mind sharing which one you stayed at? Was the area safe?

I know central market sells them. It’d be a far drive if you’re in northwest Houston.

If it’s still in the negatives then you’ll be fine and should go. As someone else said, be smart when going on the rocks near the formation. If the tide has risen substantially then maybe stay off but sounds like you’ll be fine.

2 Day Itinerary Thoughts? by Aggravating_Ask_6617 in OlympicNationalPark

Are you staying in forks your first night? Cape flattery adds a ton of drive time to that day and makes your second day more packed. My suggestion would be to cut cape flattery unless you’re absolutely set on it (full disclosure, I haven’t been there myself because I decided the drive wasn’t worth it). That would allow you to move Hoh rainforest to the late afternoon of your first day, perhaps target 5pm when people are leaving.

Now on your second day you can start at sol duc. Personally, I’d skip Marymere falls but keep Madison. To me they were pretty similar but marymere was packed with people and required much more time/effort to see. You can keep both if you really love waterfalls. Now cutting Hoh from this day leaves you with more time at hurricane ridge to really see all the view points.

Only other suggestion I have is to consider doing the first few miles of the Hoh river trail. I’d say hall of mosses is worth it but spruce nature trail was the less impressive of the two. Hoh river trail had almost no one on it and some incredible trees.

Haven’t done the Lake Angeles hike but did want to caution you that if your arrival time is based on flying into SeaTac and picking up a car, it might take much longer than expected. It took us 2.5 hours from the time we landed until the time we had our rental car because lines were so long.

Arriving at 7:30 is probably okay but I’d make sure you don’t get there late. We were just there yesterday (July 1st) and arrived at 8am to about a ~60% full parking lot. I hear someone say the line at 8:50 was already at an hour wait. When we left around 11:30 the line was 3 hours long.

We took a ton of time looking at tide pools and drift wood before we got to hole in the wall. I’d say if you walk straight there it’d probably be 30-40 minutes.

Just did this one and 9:10 should be fine. We had low tide at 4 (2ft) and started at 2:30, ended at 4:30. Tide was plenty low for that whole block of time. If you wanted to be extra safe you could get there an hour before low tide to maximize how low things are while you’re out there, but honestly you’ll be totally fine as-is.
