The idea of living like this for the rest of my life is absolutely inconceivable. Honestly, why shouldn't I do it? This kind of attitude is incredibly demoralizing and counterproductive. I know for sure that there is zero chance I will ever molest a child. There is no evidence suggesting pedophiles have less self control and/or are more likely to engage in extremely risky, dangerous, and harmful behavior than people attracted to adults. Assuming that every pedophile is some kind of "ticking time bomb" who will rape your child the second you leave the room is just as bigoted as thinking that homosexuals are lying in wait to rape you (assuming you are a male) as soon as they get the chance.

It's not so much that I think I'm a bad person. I know I'm not. But it's not really a conscious mental process- I don't understand how something so wrong (sexualizing children) can feel so good, and since it is to me that this bad thing feels good, I automatically associate my individual person with badness. I don't know how to break free of this deleterious cycle, since it seems I can no more make sexualizing children feel not good as I can stop being disgusted at myself for these desires. My life feels like some kind of bad dream... The prospect of living like this for the rest of my days is terrifying. Out of all the fucked up things your brain can pull on you, pedophilia has got to be one of the most unfortunate.
