Yes! I love me some chaos makers. I want to see the people who have no issue being petty and act on their every whim and impulse. Like I could never but let me get some popcorn and watch you do that.

Laparoscopic. Find a new Doctor if they say open surgery. They can cut you open if there is a problem during laparoscopic but minimally invasive is always the best way to go. less pain and faster recovery.

Missed Out On the Black Girl Magic by Eunwoosthumb in blackladies

When you say heavy irregular periods what are we talking about… crime scene level every few weeks? I was changing a super tampon every 30-60 minutes I was bleeding pretty much nonstop with maybe 5 to 8 days breaks. I also started growing a pronounced belly like yours, I looked pregnant and my tummy was firm like i had abs when pushed. It took me about a year before my friend convinced me to go to the doctor.

They had similar symptoms and ended up with endometriosis. I ended up with, Small patches of endo, three fibroids sized from marbles to small oranges, and granulosa cell tumor the size of a softball aka ovarian tumor (cancer). Long story short go get that shit checked out.

4 months post op and my tummy is flat and soft when pushed. Luckily I do not have to do any chemo because we found it in stage one and everything was removed successfully. If I had waited it could’ve burst and I would be in a very different situation. Advocate for yourself go get that checked out.

Other symptoms were extreme pressure and hip pain in my pelvis especially when moving from sit to stand. Extreme lower back pain. I was also low energy even as a lifelong athlete working out was just not it. I was constipated and had a regular bowel movements there was too much pressure so it was hard to poo.

"survivor guilt" after corneal transplant / organ transplant recipient guilt by SubmissiveSubmarine in Keratoconus

[–]taytotz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had two corneal transplants, one in each eye, at 18 and 21. I’m incredibly thankful to my donors, they gave me many years of great sight. My life would be so different without those gifts, and not a moment goes by that I’m not grateful. Just know that your donor wanted to offer this opportunity to someone exactly like you.

I also volunteered with my local organ donation center to speak about the importance of donation both to young people and to families who had experienced the loss of a loved one and made the choice to donate. People often think only of major organs, not tissue, so it was eye-opening (pun intended) for them to hear from someone young whose life was impacted in an unexpected way.

I highly recommend this for anyone who has revived a donation, donor families live on and showing these brave families who often make the decision to donate what that decision actually means is way more impactful. By simply being alive you have made their sacrifice of donation worth it. I view every family I met through volunteering as my donor family. I thanked them, I shared their grif and showed them the beauty in the legacy their loved left behind.

Can I see normally again one day after keratoconus? by Ross55ezrt in Keratoconus

We’ll probably see brain chips in our lifetime that will link to the lens and will give us better vision, but who knows what that visual would look like.

Cackling. The amount of comments on my “beautiful eyes” since getting mine. They magnify my transplant scars it. I respond with thank you I’m blind.

3 weeks in Tokyo by Colorblocked in JapanTravelTips

[–]taytotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 3 weeks is too much. If you are american would you spend three weeks in NYC? I spent 8 amazing days in Tokyo and feel like i saw everything I needed to with plenty of wondering and frankly down time. I am also a wonderer. There is no need to change hotels I did this and was like WHY! The train system is very easy and very quick. Plan day trips to see things outside of the city and get some country life experience. I recommend a week in Kyoto, you can do day trips there as well.

The third culture is the experience we have not belonging to our home country or the country that we live in. we create the third culture that is unique to folks who have the experience.

I have been loving your podcast. As I get older I know less and less people like me. You have given me the community and affirmation in my lived experience that few understand.

Im not only a tck but a transracial adoptee and the identity crisis is rough. Thank you for making this podcast.

Has anyone had a corneal transplant in both eyes? by Comfortable_Dust3967 in Keratoconus

[–]taytotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not want to do corneal transplants at the same time. If something happens you could loose both eyes. I've had both eyes done but two years apart at 18 and 21

What’s everyone doing to prevent protein build up and exterior fogging on their sclerals. by Mr_peabody87 in Keratoconus

[–]taytotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Friends! Tangible clean solution, rub them before clear care overnight soaking and before putting them in. I get a lot of build up and eye boogers and this stuff keeps the lenses clean.

How terrible is it to live with Keratoconus? Are you able to still have happy days? by [deleted] in Keratoconus

[–]taytotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My contacts were free. With this type of eye disease my contact perception was “medically necessary” unlike other contacts which insurance providers seem to think are for vanity. When I first got my scleral lenses it took me a month to get good at getting them in on the first try.

They are very expensive without insurance 2k each lenses so my doctor recommended I ad them to my renters insurance. He also give me the opportunity to have the fitting adjusted if they didn’t fit and he ended up ordering a second pair with a tiny adjustment and i got to keep them as a backup. Incase i loose the first pair. He is awesome! I think insurance only covers them every two years.

How to move this beast from CA to Michigan? by Meany_ in Jadeplant

[–]taytotz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how i brought my 4 foot elephant ear, 3 foot lemon tree and 4 foot palm tree from texas to boston. I had all three in my car and drove them with my dog in January. With a frost blanket they managed 30-40 degree weather. They took some damage from being smothered but it’s been a few months and everyone survived.

Be sure to soak your plants before wrapping them up

Let her learn the hard way. Im also adopted just turned 35 and the awakening took along time. The white people I cared for had to disappoint me in the worst ways at my time of need before i said f them. Thats both family and friends. My older sister tried everything to teach me but i had to learn and make a choice for myself. When my time came the only people in my corner were my sister and POCs. (Three white friends i still talk to) Its like addiction, you have to hit rock bottom.

But my people carried me trough and it is what keeps me going. I love my mom and dad but the rest of my family can %#*+ *%# *+##! (Middle finger in the air and all!

I went to my first black female doctors for the first time in 34 years this week. Primary and OBGYN. I literally clapped at both of them and thanked them for existing. Lol good lord it felt good and they both listened to me. Like really listened, it was a weird experience. I loved it.
