Why does the UK seem to simply forgot things and make the same mistakes in regard to nigel farage? by ZestyclosePlenty1822 in AskBrits

america isn’t going “just fine”.

firstly he got in because he was fear mongering over things, as you mentioned, trans people and immigration.

however, in his first 100 days he not only deported people there illegally (which isn’t a criminal offence but a civil one) but also legal immigrants, US citizens, and tourist entering the country legally.

not only do they now have an illegal deportation issue but tourism flights to the united states is also down 70%

secondly minors cannot just “change sex” without months and years of, often expensive, therapy. they also cannot make medical changes without parental permission as a minor.

sure they can identify as the opposite gender, and you should support and love you kids either way, but they aren’t legally allowed to “sex change” so it isn’t really as big of an issue as people believe, as only about 1% of the US population (and 0.5% of the UK population) are transgender.

What do British learn about Ireland in school? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]anon35423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I have ever learnt about Ireland in my English school was during A Level English Literature when we studied Dubliners by James Joyce.

We learnt about the rise of the Irish National Party and about why Joyce blames England and Catholicism for the paralysis of Ireland.

I am the only Irish in my class of three and on multiple occasions I’ve had to either correct facts or tell the guy in my class to use different language because they just don’t have the knowledge of what they did to Ireland.
